Calypogeia is the largest genus of the family Calypogeiaceae, and there are more than 50 species in the world. The genus is widely distributed throughout the world, mainly in tropical and subtropical regions.Because the taxonomic characters in morphology of the Calypogeia are greatly affected by environmental factors, the plasticity is extremely strong, resulting in complex inter-species relationships. The classification and identification within the species is very difficult, and the taxonomic status of some species is still unclear.China is a major distribution area for the genus Calypogeia,At present,12 species are recorded, but the classification and revision of molecular phylogenetic studies have not been carried out.The exact species and distribution are still unknown. In this paper,a combination of morphological and phylogenetic study was used to conduct a taxonomical revision of Calypogeia in China.Morphological research mainly covers nearly 700 specimens including field collection and domestic and foreign collections.A total of 61 samples of Calypogeia were selected for phylogenetic studies, and Metacalypogeia was selected as outgroup.A nuclear marker nr ITS and two chloroplast markers, rbc L and trn L-F,were selected, and phylogenetic trees were constructed by the maximum likelihood method and Bayesian inference analyses. The main results of this study are as follows:1.Fifteen species of Calypogeia are recognized in China.2.Accept the classification treatment of the former genus Calypogeia(two subgenera: subg.Asperifolia and subg.Calypogeia),and place C.contracta in subg.Asperifolia.3.A new distribution of C.fujisana and C.contracta in China is reported, and C.contracta is a new recorded species in Malaysia.
