Purpose:To investigate the post-activation potentiation effects of whole body vibration(WBV),blood flow restriction(BFR)and there combination(WBV+BFR),during squat exercise, respectively,on subsequent Wingate Anaerobic Test(WAn T)Performance. Methods:Fifty male trained students volunteered from Beijing Sport University were randomly assigned to five groups: Control(C),Squat(S),Squat+Whole Body Vibration(S+WBV,SV),Squat+Blood Flow Restriction(S+BFR,SB),and Squat+Whole Body Vibration+Blood Flow Restriction(S+WBV+BFR,SVB).The experiment lasted for 5 weeks. All participants completed five testing sessions separated by 7 days. All subjects undertook a standardized cycling warmup(SCWU)followed by a WAn T(T0)in 2 minutes later in the 1st testing session.Subjects in group C performed WAn T at 4min(T4),8min(T8),12min(T12)respectively after a SCWU from the 2nd to the 4th testing session sequentially.Subjects in group S performed a squat protocol after the SCWU,and then completed a WAn T in 4min,8min,12 min later from the 2nd to the 4th testing session sequentially.Participants in group S+WBV,S+BFR,S+WBV+FBR performed a SV,SR and SVR espectively during the squat protocol after the SCWU,and then completed a WAn T in 4min,8min,12 min later from the 2nd to the 4th testing session sequentially. The squat protocol was 30% 1RM,15 reps,3 sets, and rest 30 sec between set.The vibration frequency was 40 Hz and the vibration amplitude was between 2mm and 4 mm.The BFR device was inflated to 140 mm Hg and around the proximal region of the thigh muscles. The following Wingate performance parameters were calculated from the cycle ergometer(Monark 894E)using the Monark anaerobic test software(Version 3.3.0.0):peak power(Peak-P),mean power(Mean-P),minimal power(Min-P),time at peak power(TApeak-p),maximal speed(Max-S),power at maximal speed(PAmax-s),percentage of power drop(PD%),peak power to body mass ratio(Peak-P/BM),mean power to body mass ratio(mean-P/BM),and total work(TW),lactate level(after WAn T 3min,5min,8min,10min).The data were reported as mean±standard deviation. All data were analysized using the Statistical package for Social Sciences(SPSS,version 23)with data normality determined via the Shapiro-Wilk ’ s Test. All included variables in this investigation presented a normal distribution(P>0.05)and parametric statistics were used to determine the PAP effect of different interventions. To determine differences in WAn T measures between the group C and group S,repeated measures one-way ANOVA with Tukey post hoc was conducted.A factorial two-way ANOVA with repeated measures was performed to analysize the main and interaction effect of WBV,BFR and their combination during squat protocol. The Bonferroni post hoc test was applied when significant differences were obtained. The significance level was set at P < 0.05.Result:(1)PP and Peak-P/BM of SV and SR at T8 were significantly higher than Pre(P <0.05),but there was no significant difference between the groups(P> 0.05).(2)Mean-P,Mean-P/BM and TW of SV,SR and SVR at T8 were significantly higher than Pre(P <0.05),but there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05).(3)Min-P and PD% of SVR at T8 were significantly lower than Pre(P <0.05),and there was no significant difference between groups(P> 0.05).(4)The lactic acid levels of SV,SR and SVR at T4,T8,and T12 were significantly higher than Pre(P <0.05)and significantly higher than S(P <0.05),but there was no significant difference between the three(P> 0.05).(5)There was no significant difference in the indexes of C in the group(P> 0.05),and there was no significant difference in the indexes of S in the group(P> 0.05).There was no significant difference in all of them(P> 0.05).Conclusion:30% 1RM squat protocol(S)could not create PAP effect during a 30-second Wingate anaerobic power test. Results indicated that SV,SR,SVR protocol increased power output and lactate measures in training-experienced men during a 30-second Wingate Test, but there is no better one among the three. Results indicated that S protocol induce greater fatigue in the 30-second Wingate anaerobic test, but there is no worse one among them.
