LHC plans to upgrade to high-luminosity LHC during Long Stop 3(2025-2027).To collect more data,LHCb plans to upgrade the detector for the second time(Upgrade Ⅱ)during the Long Stop 4(2031)of the LHC.The calorimeter will need to be upgraded to meet the physics goals. In this paper,we studied the feasibility of using MAPS-chips-based digital calorimeter to fulfill the requirements of the new calorimeter.By performing Geant4 simulations of a simple MAPS-Pb electromagnetic calorimeter,we found that an energy resolution of(?)⊕ 0.11%and a spatial resolution of 0.85 mm is achievable with 36 layers of sensor-absorber.
