The Baoshan antimony gold deposit within the Middle–Lower Yangtze River Metallogenic Belt is a typical deposit with, superior metallogenic geological conditions.Based on the geological survey project "Investigation and Evaluation of Nanhua-Sinian stratigraphic resources in northern Jiangxi province" of Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and the market project named "Verification Report on the reserves of Antimony gold deposit in Baoshan county,Jiangxi Province",this paper firstly carried out a systematic explorational and geochemical study on the Baoshan deposit, then clarified the geological characteristics of the deposit, and further discussed the genesis of the deposit.A new prospecting model has been proposed based on pervious metallogenic models,.The main results achieved are as follows:In this study, through the compilation of the pit and chemical analysis, the characteristics and scales of the spatial distribution of ore-controlling structure and ore-body have been described,meanwhile,7 main industrial antimony ore bodies have been delineated. The results show that the mineralization of Baoshan Antimony gold deposit is controlled by different levels of tectonic deformation from ore belt, ore field, ore deposit, ore body and even vein.In other words, tectonic belts control the formation and distribution of antimony gold deposits. The results show that the ore-forming fluids are the mixture of deep fluid and meteoric water, while the ore-forming materials come from lamprophyre and surrounding rock strata. There is no evidence supporting the direct relationship between magmatism and antimony gold mineralization in this area, but magmatism could have provided a certain thermodynamic transformation for antimony gold mineralization as well as an indispensable mineralization agent-sulfur element for the formation of antimony gold deposits. This study summarized the metallogenic model for the low to moderate temperature hydrothermal antimony gold deposit.A prospecting model is further established.Importantly, given the metallogenic regularities and ore-controlling factors,it is predicted that the periphery and middle to deep parts of Baoshan antimony gold deposit have great potentials for ore-prospecting.Moreover,ore-prospecting geological conditionsthe Shidu-Pingshang prospect area in Wuning,Jiangxi would also have similar prospecting potential because its ore-prospecting geological conditions are comparable with those of the Baoshan antimony gold deposit.
