Birdstrike refers to flight safety accidents or signs of accidents that occur when an aircraft is struck by birds(or bats)during takeoff,flight or landing.Studies have shown that the vast majority of birdstrike accidents mainly occur in the take-off,climbing,approaching and landing phases of aircraft.Therefore,the airport and nearby areas are the key areas for birdstrike prevention and control.The ecological environment of Shuangliu Airport provides abundant food sources and habitats for birds in the airport,which attracts birds to forage around the airport,resulting in a large number of bird strikes.In order to reduce the safety threat of birds to aircraft,this study analyzed the diet of birds in the airport and its vicinity to effectively control the food species,quantity and density of birds in the airport,so as to reduce the attraction of the airport environment to birds and the number of birds foraging in the airport.From September 2017 to December 2018,all bird specimens provided by Shuangliu Airport staffs were collected,and 45 high-risk bird specimens were screened for food analysis of gastric contents by DNA metabarcoding.The stomach contents of 45 birds tested in this experiment yielded 38 complete results and 7 only detected plant diets.A total of 17 orders and 44 families of animals were detected in 38 samples,including insects,fish,mammals,soil animals,etc.In addition,domestic waste near the airport is also an important source of food.A total of 33 orders and 62 families of plants were detected in 45 samples,including Compositae,Leguminosae,Gramineae,Rosaceae,Moraceae,Cruciferae and other plants.The seasonal diet of birds in Shuangliu Airport were analyzed by frequency method.The results showed that the main animal food in Shuangliu Airport in spring included Coleoptera(10.78%),Decapoda(10.78%)and Lepidoptera(10.78%),and the main plant food included Cruciferae(6.18%),Gramineae(6.18%)and Compositae(5.79%).The main animal food in summer included Coleoptera(14.61%),Orthoptera(10.11%),Lepidoptera(10.11%)and Orthoptera(10.11%).Plant food mainly includes Cruciferae(6.70%),Moraceae(6.70%),Leguminous(6.19%)and Gramineae(6.19%).The main animal food in autumn includes Coleoptera(12.50%),Orthoptera(12.50%),Rodenta(12.50%),and plant food mainly includes Asteraceae(6.86%)and Crucifera.Floridae(6.86%)and Leguminosae(6.86%);the main animal food in winter mainly includes Diptera(17.65%),Cyprinidae(14.71%)and Rodents(14.71%),while plant food mainly includes Cruciferae(6.29%),Leguminosae(6.29%),Moraceae(6.29%)and Gramineae(6.29%).According to the results of the investigation,some suggestions were put forward,such as mowing,pesticide removal and cleaning up domestic waste near the airport.
