The Oman Basin is located on the southeastern edge of the Arabian Plate. The Hugf super group contains the oldest oil and gas reservoirs in the Oman Basin and even entire the Middle East area. With the latest reservoir data, this paper conducts a research on various accumulation elements of Hugf super petroleum system and statistically summarizes the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of oil and gas,by applying an integrated analysis of petroleum geology.Meanwhile, this study also dynamically analyzes the process of oil and gas accumulation, and summarizes the mode of accumulation.By the end of 2017,the 2P reserves(i.e.proved and producible reserves)in the Hugf super petroleum system amount to 21213.01 mmboe. The quantity of oil, condensate and natural gas were 10358.99 mmbbl,1324.11 mmbbl and 57,179.45 Bcf respectively, accounting for 72.76% of the entire Oman Basin. And most of the reserves are distributed in three salt sub-basins and their adjacent areas including Eastern Flank and Makarem-Mabrouk High. The source rocks of the Hugf Super Group are spread throughout the Oman Basin, including pre-salt Nafun Group,intra-salt Ara Group, and supra-salt Dhahaban Formation. The first two types of source rocks generate Hugf-type oil and gas, while the Dahahaban Formation source rocks eventually generate Q-type oil and gas.According to the distribution of source rocks, this study divided it into south and north two sub-systems.Combined with the stratigraphic position of reservoirs and seals,we subdivided it into five major hydrocarbon accumulation combinations.Three types of accumulation models are summarized: self-sourced model,short-distances old source rock and young reservoir,long-distances old source rock and young reservoir, salt dissolution remigration. Finally,it is known that the lateral migration distance in the South Oman basin sub-petroleum system is relatively short, which belongs to near-source accumulation, and it is believed that it is strongly controlled by the hydrocarbon generation and expulsion center and the reservoir facies zone. However, the lateral migration distance of the North Oman basin sub-petroleum varies greatly at different locations, and it is considered that it is greatly affected by the pathway system and local structure.
