Under the background of the new era of rapid economic development,traditional villages are facing inevitable collapse and decline.There is a growing urgency about the renewal of villages.The old mud tile houses have experienced hundreds of years of wind and rain,and evolved into dangerous houses that need to be demolished and reformed.The outdoor layout of some villages is chaotic and inconvenient because of early unplanned construction.The rural permanent population is usually elderly people and younger children.Combined with the implementation of rural revitalization strategy proposed by the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2018,the “the strategy of rural vitalization” issued by the State Council has raised a series of strategic requirements to optimize the layout of rural development and create a reasonable and comfortable rural living space.Improving the indoor and outdoor environment of traditional villages is the embodiment of the support and care of the elderly population and children.At the same time,increasing the livability and comfort of traditional villages,optimizing the layout form of rural buildings,and improving the outdoor thermal environment of residential areas,play an important driving role and have positive practical significance for the protection and activation of traditional villages.Firstly,this study conducts a basic field investigation on 42 traditional villages in Lingnan area,mainly in Guangzhou,Foshan,and Dongguan.The survey aims to understand the basic information of traditional villages in hot summer and warm winter areas,such as basic scale,layout form,architectural scale and architectural style,with a focus on summarizing the layout and architectural characteristics of traditional villages in Guangzhou,which provides basic information for subsequent field tests and optimization studies.In this study,Huangwu Village in Zengcheng District and Nanping Village in Conghua District with different characteristics in Guangzhou Field tests of physical parameters related to thermal environment are carried out in summer and winter respectively to understand the objective parameters and basic situation of outdoor environment of villages in winter and summer.The universal thermal climate index(UTCI)is used as the thermal environment evaluation index,and the UTCI value can be calculated by the measured parameters.Combined with the analysis of regional climate characteristics,it is known that the outdoor thermal environment of the village is hot in summer and comfortable in winter,and there are wet problems in winter and summer.On the Rhinoceros & Grasshopper software platform,using the Ladybug Tools thermal environment simulation plug-in group to establish the model and simulate the outdoor thermal environment of Huangwu Village in Zengcheng District and Nanping Village in Conghua District.UTCI was also used as the evaluation index.The simulation results were compared with the results calculated by the field measured parameters to verify the availability and accuracy of the software platform,which provided the basis for the next optimization research.Based on the basic layout form of rural areas in Guangzhou,a parametric model is established.In the Rhinoceros & Grasshopper software platform,the genetic algorithm in the Galapagos module of Grasshopper is used as the optimization calculation method.The optimization calculation of outdoor thermal environment was carried out for different layouts and architectural styles.Through the acquisition of a large number of samples and the analysis of the optimal solution set,the optimization scheme and optimization strategy of rural outdoor thermal environment are summarized.This study introduces the method of outdoor thermal environment optimization to the practical project in Nanping Village of Conghua District.Furthermore,by comparing with the original outdoor thermal environment,the results verified the universality and availability of the optimization strategy in this study,and the advantages of the optimization method and the improvement are summarized.
