Resin based Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic(CFRP)has been widely used in the industrial field as its excellent comprehensive material properties.CFRP is made up of carbon fiber and epoxy resin matrix.Conventional machining methods could cause many problems,such as tearing,delamination and heat affected zone formation,as well as tool wear severely.It is necessary to explore an efficient and high quality processing mode.In order to obtain a high-quality processing mode,this paper studied the removal mechanism,simulation process and optimized parameter optimization of CFRP processed by ultraviolet laser.This article initially analysis the resin base structure and material properties of CFRP.Based on this,the CFRP on the absorption of ultraviolet laser process investigation and the mechanism based on the pulse width are also studied.The influence of pulse width and wavelength on the processing mechanism are studied,which provided a theoretical basis for choosing UV nanosecond laser for high quality CFRP processing.In order to further analyze,the action process of UV nanosecond laser on CFRP,the finite element method is used to simulate the thermodynamics of CFRP.The temperature field,stress field and thermal expansion of CFRP lamina are obtained under the action of nanosecond laser pulse.By the simulation analysis,the effects of defocus on the area of removal and the depth of removal are revealed.The experiment and simulation results under different laser processing power conditions are elaborated to prove the effectiveness of the simulation.In the simulation parts,the direction of the tension and compression stress of each part of the material is analyzed,and the thermal expansion under the action of a single pulse is also studied.The formation of heataffected zone and the causes of defects such as expansion are revealed.In order to obtain the optimal processing quality and high efficiency processing parameters,the UV laser cutting process experiments on CFRP laminate,cutting methods can be divided into line scanning cutting and milling cutting.The influence of machining power,scanning speed and repetition frequency on the evaluation indexes such as the taper of the slot,the size of the heat affected zone at the entrance of the slot,and the effective processing time are explored by the line scanning cutting method.The range of process parameters with better machining quality is obtained,and the processing process and the limit machining depth are also analyzed.Cutting milling methods based on response surface method of experiment,explored the groove width,scanning speed,the processing power of effective processing time,fill gaps,kerf taper,kerf profile surface roughness value indicators.The data model was obtained by fitting the influencing parameters,and the process parameters were optimized.Based on the above mentioned method,the process parameters are obtained,and the circular as well as angular cutting experiments are conducted out to obtain better processing quality and efficiency.It is proved that UV nanosecond laser can achieve good processing quality in the processing of CFRP,which provides a new idea for the industrial CFRP processing mode.
