With the continuous evolution of radio communication systems,some novel technologies have sprung up.Nowadays,the proposal of 5G makes people feel the convenience brought by high speed and low latency.The rise of virtual reality,Internet of Things,cloud computing and other fields has caused people's demand for high speed and large bandwidth to increase rapidly,and the spectrum resources of the current wireless communication system will be exhausted.For this reason,professionals in various fields slowly set their sights on a new unknown frequency band-Terahertz(THz).The terahertz wave is used as a physical transmission medium for communication,and the data transmission rate can reach Gbps or even higher.It can meet the current demand for high speeds,and it is also expected to solve the problem of the shortage of low-frequency spectrum resources in traditional wireless communication systems.Due to the particularity of the terahertz wave,it needs the support of the MAC protocols suitable for the terahertz network,so a lot of research is carried out on its MAC protocols.This article aims to research and improve the IEEE 802.15.3 standard protocol proposed by the terahertz interest group,and implement the improved protocol through hardware and software.The main work of this thesis is as follows:1.Introduced the related concepts of terahertz waves and the current research status of terahertz wireless personal area networks.It mainly introduces the characteristics of terahertz waves and the application scenarios of terahertz communication,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the related protocols of the existing terahertz wireless personal area network directional network,and provides theoretical support for the following text.2.Introduced the background knowledge related to the realization of the terahertz wireless personal area network.After in-depth study of the existing terahertz wireless personal area network based on the IEEE 802.15.3 standard,it was found that there are problems that cannot be ignored in the network.To solve these problems,this thesis proposes a new MAC protocol—High-efficiency and low-overhead directional MAC protocol in terahertz wireless personal area network,HLOD-MAC,there are three innovative mechanisms in the protocol: adaptive beacon frame sending mechanism,beamforming mechanism for PNC to sense node location,and fast association process mechanism.While the HLOD-MAC protocol realizes the function of the terahertz directional MAC protocol,compared with the standard protocol,it has obvious improvements in network performance and other aspects.3.On the Xilinx development board ZCU104 platform,the HLOD-MAC protocol is realized by the way of software and hardware co-design,and the protocol is verified by Modelsim software,and then the standard MAC protocol and HLOD-MAC are tested on the Linux platform.The performance indicators of the protocol show that the HLOD-MAC protocol is superior in terms of delay,control overhead,and throughput.4.Summarized the full text,given the work that needs to be done in this field in the future,and analyzed the follow-up research directions in this field.
