Objective: Intervention through a 12-week low-intensity fitness scheme in 80 older adults with sarcopenia, analyzed the changes of body composition ? BMD and physical activity indicators before and after the intervention, explored the effect of the low-intensity fitness scheme on improving the physical activity ability who were elderly with sarcopenia.Method: A screening test for sarcopenia on 526(301 males,225 females)eligible adults over 60 years showed that there were 92 patients with sarcopenia(53 males and 39 females)in the Hohhot community.92 patients with sarcopenia underwent a 12-week low-intensity fitness scheme. It was carried out 3 times a week,60-80 minutes each time.Body composition, physical function and physical activity indexes were tested before and after the exercise intervention, and a total of 80 patients(51 males and 29 females)with sarcopenia eventually completed the exercise intervention and index tests throughout.Paired samples t-test and chi-square test were used to analyze the changes in indicators before and after the exercise intervention, and the significance level was set at P<0.05.Result:(1)Screening test for sarcopenia on 526(301 males,225 females)patients showed that there were 92 patients with sarcopenia(54 males and 38females),and the prevalence rate was 17.49%(17.60% in males,17.33% in females).(2)After 12 weeks of exercise intervention, although the body weight,BMI index, muscle content, skeletal muscle mass index, body fat content, visceral fat content, body fat percentage,waist-to-hip ratio, resting heart rate, blood pressure, bone mineral density Z value index of sarcopenia elderly was no significant improvement.(P>0.05).(3)After 12 weeks of exercise intervention, the physical activity of the elderly with sarcopenia was significantly improved(P<0.05).Men's and women's grip strength increased by 1.11 kg and 1.32 kg,30 ° sit-ups improved by 3.11 and 2.34 times, sitting forward flexion increased by 1.51 cm and 1.03 cm,2 minutes leg raises improved by 7.73 and 6.71 times, the 8-step turnaround time was reduced by 1.29 s and 0.65 s,the 10-meter obstacle walking time was reduced by 0.62 s and 0.61 s.(4)There were significant gender differences in body weight, muscle content, skeletal muscle mass index,waist-to-hip ratio,Z-value of bone mineral density, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, grip strength, and sitting forward flexion among the elderly with sarcopenia(P < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)The 12-week low-intensity exercise fitness program improves muscle strength and muscle endurance in older adults with sarcopenia.(2)The 12-week low-intensity exercise fitness program improves flexibility, balance, and coordination in older adults with sarcopenia.(3)The 12-week low-intensity exercise fitness program enhances aerobic work capacity in older adults with sarcopenia.(4)The 12-week low-intensity exercise fitness program significantly improved physical activity and made a difference in the ability to perform activities of daily living in older adults with sarcopenia.
