Corrole,as one meso-carbon short porphyrin analogue,has received great attention in recent years.Similar to porphyrins,corroles retain the 18? aromacity with intense Soret band and several lower Q bands in the visible region.It is worth mentioning that,due to the remarkable structure difference compared with porphyrins,corroles have some unique properties including extremely high luminescence yield in assigning ones and stabilizing the high valence metals.In contrast to the massive research of porphyrin in many areas for decades,the properties and applications of corroles are relatively limited.In the present work,we synthesized a series of novel corrole-based arrays,the fascinating photophysical properties of which were investigated systematically.1.We designed and synthesized the corrole dimer connected by ethynyl linkage for the first time,The absorption spectrum of corrole dimer is nearly twice the intensity of the corresponding monomer.In order to investigate the substitution affection of the meso-carbon,an anthracene-containing corrole was synthesized.There is no significant change of absorption spectra can be observed by replacing the central meso-linked phenyl ring of anthracene,since the anthracene did not participate the conjugate ?-system of main corrole macrocycle.2.Novel corrole-BODIPY conjugates bridged by ethynyl linkage were synthesized in high yields for the first time.The efficient control of the direction of the energy transfers is studied,going either from BODIPY to corrole units or from corroles to BODIPY,depending on the substitution position of BODIPY and amount of corroles.The absorption spectrums of the obtained compounds can cover most of the visible region,which have great advantage in capturing solar energy.3.Iridium coordinated corrole-BODIPY conjugates bridged by ethynyl linkage were prepared.Iridium corroles exhibit high singlet oxygen generation efficiency according to the research previously,but the lack of effective long-wavelength absorption of iridium corroles limited the application in photodynamic therapy area.In this study,the Ir-corrole-BODIPY enhances the absorption intensity in the long wavelength significantly,leading to great potential as photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy.
