A series of containing Schiff base side group polyamides P7?P9 and 8-hydroxyquinoline side group polyamides P10?P12 were synthesized through multi-step reaction with isophthalic acid as the starting material.Metal complexes P7-Zn?P9-Zn were prepared via the coordination reaction of P7?P9 with Zn2+.Metal complexes P10-Zn?P12-Zn and P10-Al?P12-Al were prepared via the coordination reaction of P10?P12 with Zn2+ and Al3+,respectively.Structures and properties of polymers and polymer metal complexes were characterized by FT-IR,UV-vis,1H NMR,Elemental Analysis,ICP,GPC,TG,Fluorescence Spectroscopy,etal.P7?P9,P7-Zn?P9-Zn were soluble in DMF,DMAc,DMSO,NMP.P10?P12 were soluble in DMF,DMAc,DMSO,NMP,P10-Zn?P12-Zn,P10-Al?P12-Al are partially dissolved in DMF,DMAc,DMSO,NMP.The Mw and PDI of P4?P6 were 12452?16871g/mol and 1.52?1.86,respectively.The result showed that polymers and metal complexes have good solubility.The 5%weight loss temperature of P7?P9 were 259.4?325.3?,P10?P12 were 281.5?316.4?,P7-Zn?P9-Zn were 273.8?336.5?,P10-Zn?P12-Zn were 313.8?338.9?,P10-Al?P12-Al were 314.2?352.1?.Test result showed that polymers and metal complexes have good thermal stability.The fluorescence spectrum showed that the DMF solution of P7?P9(3×10-5mol/L)emitted weak purple light around 405nm,the solid emitted strong yellow light around 540nm.The DMF solution of P7-Zn?P9-Zn(3×10-5mol/L)emitted strong green light around 497nm,the solid emitted strong yellow-green light around 520nm.The DMF solution of P10?P12(3×10-5mol/L)emitted strong blue-violet light around 465nm,the solid emitted weak purple light around 470nm.The DMF solution of P10-Zn?P12-Zn(3×10-5mol/L)emitted strong green light around 505nm,the solid emitted strong green light around 510nm.The DMF solution of P10-Al?P12-Al(3×10-5mol/L)emitted strong blue-green light around 480nm,the solid emitted strong yellow-green light around 515nm.Test results showed that P7-Zn?P12-Zn?P10-Al?P12-Al display good fluorescence properties.In this paper,a series of containing Schiff base or 8-hydroxyquinoline side group polyamides and metal complexes were synthesized.They have good solubility,thermal stability and fluorescent property,displaying the potential application value in the field of photoelectric functional material.
