With the development of the Internet economy and the advancement of technology,three-dimensional virtual fittings are gradually approaching people’s lives.The user’s realism requirements for the three-dimensional virtual fitting effect are also getting higher and higher.The realism of the virtual fabric plays a key role in the realism of the entire three-dimensional virtual fitting effect.The realism of the virtual fabric can be analyzed from the perspectives of the drape effect,the realism of the wrinkle effect,the realism of the texture expression effect,and the realism of the material expression effect.The realism of the drape effect plays a primary role.This paper takes CLO three-dimensional virtual fitting software as an example to explore how to evaluate the virtual fabric drape effect accurately and efficiently as well as optimize the virtual fabric simulation effect rapidly,in order to develop the process about evaluation and optimization of the realism of the virtual fabric drape effect.The process provides a reference for the evaluation and optimization of 3D virtual fitting software on the market.In this paper,the virtual fabric drape test conditions were first created based on the actual fabric drape test conditions.Then,71 kinds of fabrics were selected for the actual fabric and virtual fabric drape test of 3 fabric lines;426 fabric drape images were obtained,and a total of 8 drapability index data,including the drape coefficient,wave number,maximum(minimum)peak amplitude(peak angle),peak amplitude(peak angle)uniformity were obtained by MATLAB software;the virtual fabric and the real fabric of the eight indicators were analyzed by paired sample T test,and the data difference was used as the categorical variable for fuzzy classification,the degree of realism of the virtual fabric drape effect is divided into three categories according to the drape degree index,and then subdivided into two sub-categories according to the drape shape indicators under each category,a total of six categories.Next,selected one representative fabric in the 6 categories respectively,making one-half real round skirt and virtual round skirt,and randomly selected 30 evaluators to compare thethree-dimensional dressing effect of 6 virtual round skirts in 6 views.The 5-level scale was used to evaluate it to obtain an evaluation level threshold range.In the evaluation of the software simulation effect,from the perspective of the realism evaluation level,the three-dimensional virtual fitting software performs well in the simulation of the drape effect,but there is still much room for improvement;from the perspective of fabric composition,the three-dimensional virtual fitting software simulates the drape effect of cotton,hemp,rayon and polyester fabrics better,and its simulation of the drape effect of nylon fabric is poor.In the model creation,BP neural network was used to create three realism rapid evaluation models from the three views of the overall feel of the virtual fabric drape effect,the degree of drape and the shape of the drape.With 8 drapability indicators as input variables and virtual fabric physical properties as output variables,a realism optimization model was created.In order to verify the effect of the optimization model,7 kinds of fabrics with poor realism in the subjective evaluation were selected,and the real fabric drape index data was input into the realism optimization model to obtain the corresponding virtual fabric physical property values,and the three-dimensional virtual fittings were obtained.The difference between the obtained new virtual fabric and the actual fabric drape index data was input into the realism rapid evaluation models to obtain the realism score value.The results show that the numerical value is higher than the original subjective score,which indicates that the virtual fabric drape effect realism optimization model created in this paper is effective.In conclusion,this paper proposes a set of virtual fabric drape effect realism evaluation and optimization process feasibility plan,which mainly includes the construction of test conditions,drape test,subjective and objective evaluation and model acquisition.The research method of the thesis has certain reference significance for the evaluation and optimization of the realism of other 3D virtual fitting software.
