Research On The Factors Influencing Chinese Steel Export Based On Gravity Model

Since 2000,driven by Chinese rapid economic development,the output of iron and steel enterprises has continued to increase.By 2018,Chinese steel output has reached 1.105 billion tons.Although in recent years,the Chinese government has invested in infrastructure construction,real estate,railway,water conservancy facilities,airport,port,subway,shantytown reconstruction and other projects successively,and a large amount of steel has been consumed,the problem of steel overcapacity and excessive production is still serious.For this reason,the Chinese government has made great efforts to restructure the steel enterprises and shut down the steel plants with backward technology and environmental protection facilities,but the effect is limited.With the proposal of “one belt,one road”,by increasing Chinese steel export volume,not only the problem of excessive steel output can be solved,but also the share of Chinese steel products in the world market can be improved,the comprehensive strength of Chinese steel enterprises can be enhanced,and finally the high-quality development of Chinese steel enterprises can be promoted.This paper consists of six chapters.The first chapter includes the significance,contents and methods,ideas and framework,innovations and shortcomings.In Chapter 2,the influence factors of steel export and the gravity model are discussed.Chapter 3 studies the theoretical mechanism of the influence of exchange rate,free trade agreement and openness on steel export.Chapter 4 introduces the current situation of steel production,consumption and export trade in China.The fifth chapter collects the steel export data of 21 countries and regions from 2001 to 2016,using the gravity model,focusing on the impact of exchange rate,free trade agreement,openness and other factors on steel export.In Chapter 6,the conclusion of empirical analysis and the countermeasures and suggestions to improve Chinese steel export are discussed.This paper focuses on the influence of exchange rate,free trade agreement and openness on steel export through the combination of theoretical and empirical research and gravity model.Then,on the basis of this,the factors,such as bilateral investment agreement,common border,fixed iron and steel investment,developed countries and so on,are added to study the influence on Chinese steel export.The research results have important and practical significance for improving the export volume of steel products and promoting the high-quality development of steel enterprises in China.
