5XXX series aluminium alloys are widely used in transportation and transportation industries for their good corrosion resistance and excellent welding performance.Among them,5059 aluminium alloys are widely studied as a new generation of marine aluminium alloys. It is very important for shipbuilding industry to produce the high-quality aluminum alloy with high mechanical properties and excellent corrosion performance. In this paper, the effect of rolling and heat treatment process on the structure and properties of 5059 aluminum alloy are studied, and the evolution law of the structure and properties of 5059 aluminum alloy during the those process are revealed. This study aims to provide technical support for the production of 5059 aluminum alloy. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)the effect of homogenization annealing and rolling on the microstructure and properties of 5059 aluminum alloy;(2)the effect of stabilization annealing on the microstructure and properties of 5059 aluminum alloy. The experimental results show that:(1)the yield strength of 5059 aluminium alloy sheets with total rolling deformation of 84.6%of A and B routes(the final rolling temperature is 285? and 294? respectively)is 206MPa and 218MPa respectively;and the tensile strength is 348MPa and 354MPa respectively;the elongation is 23.6%and 21.8%respectively;the corrosion quantity per unit area is 2.36mg/cm2 and 2.73mg/cm2 respectively.(2)After cold rolling with 62.8%total deformation, the yield strength of 5059 hot-rolled aluminum alloy sheet under A and B routes is 418MPa and 436MPa respectively;the tensile strength is 491MPa and 494 MPa respectively;the elongation is 6.3%and 7.6%respectively;and the corrosion quantity per unit area is 2.11mg/cm2 and 2.31mg/cm2 respectively.(3)During the stabilization annealed at different temperature(125? to 275?)for 1 hour, the cold rolled sheet's(with A route)tensile strength and yield strength decrease continuously with the increcesing temperature, the tensile strength decreased from 474MPa to 407MPa as the tempareture inceasing form 125? to 275?;the yield strength decreased from 386MPa to 301MPa as the tempareture inceasing form 125? to 275?,while the elongation increases continuously from 10.4%to 18.1%as the tempareture increasing form 125? to 275?.(4)During the stabilization annealed at different temperature(125? to 275?)for 1 hour,5059 aluminum alloy cold rolled sheet's(with A route)corrosion resistance decreased first and then increased with the increasing of the temperature. After corroded by concentrated nitric acid for 24 hours, the weight loss of the sample on unit area increased from 13.65mg/cm2 to 53.84mg/cm2 as the temperature increasing from 125? to 200?,and then decreased gradually to 4.99 mg/cm2 as the temperature increasing to 275?.
