Ti/Al/stainless steel layered clad material has the characteristics of corrosion resistance to seawater and non-toxic of Ti,light and heat conductivity of Al,high strength and beautiful appearance of stainless steel.Therefore,it is an ideal material for ocean engineering,cooking utensils and construction,but Al is the active metal.Ti and stainless steel are easily to produce inter-metallic compounds,so how to determine Ti/Al/stainless steel cold-rolling clad plate annealing process,improve interface bonding strength and reduce work hardening is the key of that the clad plate can enter the practical application or not.In this paper,by using metallographic observation,hardness test,peel tests,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and XRD phase analysis method,studied the influence of annealing process on microstructure and properties of Ti/Al clad interface and stainless steel/Al clad interface respectively,conclusions are obtained as follows:(1)With the increasing of annealing temperature and time,the thickness of inter-metallic compound in composite interface increased.There was no inter-metallic compounds in Stainless steel/Al and Ti/Al composite interface at the temperature of 450? for 2h,with the increasing of annealing temperature or time,inter-metallic compounds appeared and grew up.When annealing,the growth rate of compound in Tl/Al clad interface was significantly lower than that of stainless steel/aluminum composite interface.(2)After annealing,the main components of the inter-metallic compounds in the interface of stainless steel/Al and Ti/Al composite interface were Fe2Al5 and TiA13 respectively.The peel tests results showed that the inter-metallic compound produced brittle fracture of the composite interface.(3)The annealing process has a big influence on micro-hardness in stainless steel/Al and Ti/Al clad interface,under certain conditions of annealing temperature,with the increasing of annealing time,micro-hardness of the interface showed first decreased and then increased,finally tends to be gentle.(4)According to the rule of micro-hardness changes in composite interface and growth of inter-metallic compounds,the suitable annealing process of Ti/Al/stainless steel clad plate process is 450? for 2h.
