The elements from raw materials such as potassium, sodium, lead and zinc have adverse effects on the production and longevity of blast furnace, which are harmful elements in the blast furnace iron production. At present, the research on the behavior of the harmful elements in the blast furnace and the effect of the blast furnace production and longevity are relatively mature, and the comparison is made. At the same time, it also studied the harmful elements in the control of blast furnace from two aspects of the amount and the formulation of reasonable operating system to reduce the harmful elements in the blast furnace production and service life of the harmful elements. In this paper, based on the above research, combined with the actual production situation of 2500m3 blast furnace in a steel plant, to investigate the source of harmful elements, to analyze the amount and discharge of harmful elements,, further discuss the impact of harmful elements on the production and longevity of blast furnace was carried on, and the corresponding measures were formulated to affect the production and longevity of blast furnace, the effect of the long period of the furnace was stable, the effect was obvious. It has guiding significance to the actual production, but also provides valuable experience for the same industry. The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1) In blast furnace, the cycle and enrichment of harmful elements, resulting in BF furnace wall bond, blast furnace casting abnormal, turbulence, thermal system arrhythmias, seriously impacted on the technical and economic indexes of blast furnace, the difficulty for the maintenance of equipment was also increased.(2)In blast furnace, the furnace lining erosion of BF from harmful elements serious, especially hearth tuyere region, the erosion of the formation of gas path caused by the abnormal increase in the temperature of the hearth side wall, and enrichment of harmful elements resulted in the blast furnace body rise and tuyeres tilting upwards.(3) The load of harmful elements for a 2500m3 blast furnace of a steel mill was more than the 7.36kg/t.Fe, which was less than 15 years of the design life, and the life expectancy was about 10 years;(4) The harmful elements of a 2500m3 blast furnace of a steel mill were mainly derived from the mixed powder (fine) of the surrounding areas;(5)For harmful elements, the amount of discharge and retention is in direct ratio to the amount of input amount from raw materials.
