Cutting heat produced in the process of milling is one of the key issues for process planning since high temperature will lead to tool wear and part surface damage.The monitoring of milling temperature can provide a reference for the research of milling cutter design,high-quality machining,and intelligent manufacturing.At present,the integrated tool holder system,which embeds the artificial thermocouple in the tool and adopts wireless Bluetooth transmission and battery power supply at the same time,is the main measurement method of milling temperature.However,there are some problems such as short transmission distance,instability and short battery time.Therefore,in this paper,the wireless power supply technology with continuous power supply and better wireless communication technology are used to design and implement a tool holder system for milling temperature monitoring.Firstly,the scheme of tool holder system is designed,the scheme of temperature signal sensing based on K-type thermocouple,the scheme of wireless power supply based on Magnetic Coupling Resonance Wireless Power Transmission(MCRWPT)technology and the scheme of wireless signal transmission based on Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)technology and Wireless Fidelity(WiFi)technology are put forward.Secondly,the key technologies of temperature signal sensing,wireless power transmission and wireless signal transmission are studied in this paper.The thermocouple is installed near the cutting edge of milling cutter,the temperature signal error is reduced by the way of dynamic measurement at cold end.The parameters of wireless power transmission module are optimized by electromagnetic field modeling using Maxwell software to improve the power transmission efficiency and the output power.The wireless transmission modules based on RFID technology and WiFi technology are built by using software encoding and decoding technology and network communication technology respectively,and the transmission error rate is the performance index.Then,the hardware of the system is designed by using Altium Designer software and Solid Works software,and MDK software and Visual Studio software are used to write the software code of the system.Finally,the physical production of a tool holder system is introduced,and the performance tests of wireless power transmission,wireless signal transmission and temperature signal sensing are carried out,obtaining the performance parameters of the system.At the same time,the cutting temperature measurement experiment of Ti6Al4V material workpiece is carried out on the machine tool,realizing the on-line monitoring of milling tool temperature.This paper innovatively uses MCRWPT technology and WiFi technology to realize the on-line monitoring of milling tool temperature.The research results show that the sustainable power supply based on MCRWPT technology is better than the battery power supply,and the wireless data transmission performance based on WiFi technology is more stable than that based on Bluetooth technology and RFID Technology.
