As an important basic industry indispensable for national economic construction and social development,the steel industry as a whole has experienced three stages in recent years,from the golden period of rapid development to the severe cold period of overcapacity to the gradual recovery period of global recovery.But combined with the global industrial situation and the general trend of steel industry upgrading,Although the current market price is rising again,from the perspective of the company’s longterm development it is a general trend to look at its own cost management issues and improve its cost control methods.There is a lot of research on cost control methods now.Choosing a cost management method that suits the company’s actual situation and production methods can do more with less.Based on the characteristics of iron steel enterprises with many and clear processes,long process and high repetition rate,this thesis uses the value chain cost management.In order to carry out cost management research with a typical Hunan L Steel Co.,Ltd.This article first sorts the results and current status of value chain cost management research at home and abroad in chronological order,and explains the relevant content of value chain theory,cost management theory,value chain cost management theory,and its application in the steel industry;Secondly,it introduces the development of the entire iron and steel industry and the basic status of Hunan L Steel Co,Ltd.Through the analysis of its financial data and field research data,it analyzes its current cost management status and analyzes the loopholes in its cost management from procurement,research and development,etc.Then,based on the company’s production and operation processes and combined with the value chain concept,the company’s internal and external value chain was combed;then,from the internal and external value chain perspective,the company’s cost management issues were put forward in order to improve the recommendations;Finally,find out how to effectively implement the value chain cost management guarantee measures in this enterprise.Based on the actual situation,this article integrates value chain cost management into the company’s various activities,with a view to providing reference and reference for the cost management of other small and medium steel companies.
