Polymer carbon dots(PCDs)are one new type of fluorescent nanomaterials that combine the characteristics of polymers and carbon dots.Red fluorescent PCDs have the characteristics of high quantum yield and good biocompatibility.Due to their unique optical properties,red fluorescent PCDs show significant advantages in bioimaging and biosensing.Sensors based on fluorescence detection technology have the advantages of easy operation,fast response,and low detection cost.However,this kind of sensor is mostly used to detect a specific substance,and it is impossible to efficiently identify similar substances.The sensor array can solve this problem well.In recent years,sensor arrays based on functionalized materials have been widely used in the field of analysis and detection.Based on this,we synthesized several red fluorescent PCDs by a simple and convenient method.Because thiol and toxic heavy metal ions have effect on the fluorescence and UV spectrum of PCDs,a fluorescence and UV dual-channel sensor array for thiol and metal ions was constructed.Principal component analysis(PCA)was used to study the discrimination effect of this sensor array on thiol and toxic heavy metal ions,and a method for identifying unknown samples was established.The details are as follows:(1)Using o-phenylenediamine and lysine as raw materials,we obtained the red fluorescence PCDs by simple hydrothermal method,the main emission peaks of PCDs are at 600 nm and 650 nm.Based on Ag+,Fe3+and Cu2+can quench the fluorescence spectrum of PCDs and change the UV absorption spectrum of PCDs,the fluorescent and UV dual-channel sensing array was constructed.As the results,this sensor array showed accurate ability of discrimination and detection of seven thiol,and the detection concentration range of the array for thiol is 1-1000?M.In addition,the sensor array identified thiol-containing samples in double-blind experiments with 100%accuracy,and the sensor array also showed good potential in the actual sample fetal bovine serum(FBS).(2)By changing the types of amino acids(glycine,lysine,dopamine),we used o-phenylenediamine and these amino acids as raw materials,three PCDs with different surface groups were prepared by hydrothermal method.Based on metal ions that can quench the fluorescence signal of PCDs and change their UV-visible spectrum,we have developed a simple fluorescent and UV dual-channel sensor array using these three PCDs as the sensing unit to detect and distinguish eight types metal ion.And this sensor array distinguished successfully the eight metal ions with different concentrations(10-200?M).In addition,the sensor array can also well identify the mixture of three kinds of metal ions(Fe3+,Al3+and Ag+)in different molar ratios.
