With the continuous development of manufacturing industry,Ball-end milling cutter is widely used in the processing of various complex curved surfaces and grooves.Its structural parameters and geometric parameters are constantly changing,and the edge curve of the cutter is becoming more and more complex,and the tool grinding process is more and more difficult.At the same time,silicon carbide aluminum based materials have high plasticity,high toughness,high elastic modulus and other excellent material characteristics,which makes Si Cp/Al materials widely used in aerospace,electronic information and other fields.Si Cp/Al is a typical hard to machine material,which is characterized by serious tool wear and poor surface quality.In order to meet the requirements of high efficiency machining of Si Cp/Al,the mathematical model of Ball-end milling cutter,grinding track of grinding wheel and parameters in actual processing process are optimized,and the grinding track of Ball-end milling cutter is established to ensure smooth transition of front cutter face,back cutter surface and spiral groove of ball-end milling cutter,and improve the milling performance of ball-end milling cutter.Firstly,the geometric model of ball end mill is established based on the tool helix and the mathematical model of traditional tool rotation surface,and the equation of equal helix angle arc edge and circumferential edge of ball-end milling cutter is obtained,and the structure and cutter angle of ball end mill are analyzed.Then,based on the mathematical model of the edge curve,the mathematical models of the rake face and the back face of the ball end mill are established,and the mathematical models of the front and rear face are verified software.Secondly,the grinding method of ball-end milling cutter is studied.According to the definition of geometric parameters of ball-end milling cutter,based on the knowledge of moving coordinate system and differential geometry,the center position of grinding wheel and the axis vector of grinding wheel are calculated when grinding the front cutter face,back cutter surface and spiral groove of ball-end milling cutter,and the grinding track of grinding wheel is established.Then combined with the selection of cemented carbide bar and grinding wheel of machine tool,the grinding process of ball-end milling cutter is analyzed.Based on the motion characteristics of saacke tool grinder,the established grinding track of grinding wheel is post processed,so as to obtain the motion command required by each axis of tool grinder.The ball-end milling cutter is actually ground by saacke tool grinder,and the ball end mill is put forward To ensure the grinding accuracy of ball-end milling cutter mill and the rationality of grinding process.Finally,the milling experiment of ball-end milling cutter is designed.The milling parameters are studied in the experimental scheme,and the tool wear and machined surface quality are analyzed.The table processed by ball end mill and ordinary ball-end milling cutter under different milling parameters are compared and analyzed The surface quality is better and the surface roughness is smaller.Finally,the tool wear of the two tools is analyzed.In the process of milling Si Cp/Al,the main wear position of ball end mill is the back face.At the initial stage of wear,the main wear forms of the ball-end milling cutter are adhesive wear and surface scratch,and the surface coating will be weakened.With the further wear,abrasive wear,diffusion wear and oxidation will occur Under the action of wear,the cutting edge of the tool is gradually damaged.
