The long service time and poor driving conditions of all-steel radial truck tires result in outstanding wear problems and rapid replacement.Research of its tread wear behavior has important engineering value.As a starting point,the tread wear behavior of the 12R22.5 all-steel radial truck tire was studied.The friction performance and wear behavior of the tread rubber were tested withLAT100,and the test results are fitted by a friction model which is related-to speed and pressure and a power function abrasion model.On this basis,a finite element model of 12R22.5 all-steel radial truck tire with longitudinal groove pattern was established.The tire road wear test was carried out to verify the reliability of the wear simulation solution process based on the post-processing method.The tire tread wear in four different rolling conditions of free rolling,braking,driving and cornering was simulated firstly using the above tire finite element model and solution strategy.The results show that the tire wear in freerolling conditions mainly occurs on the side of grooves.The maximum wear depth appears in the shoulder block under braking conditions,while the maximum wear depth of driving conditions appears in the middle block of the tread.The tread wear rate under cornering conditions is the greatest.Secondly,the influence of inflation pressure and load on tread wear was investigated.The lower inflation pressure and the higher load lead to the larger contact area.In the meantime,the unevenness of tread wear profile increases.For the tire overpressure and overload condition,the simulation shows that the tread rubber abrasion mass is 1.56 times that of the rated conditions after freerolling 5×104 km.Finally,tire structure design parameters also have an effect on tread wear.For the tread pattern structure,as the groove depth decreases,the tread wear rate decreases.For the tire belt structure,the wear resistance performance of the tread is optimized based on the orthogonal test method by selecting the three test factors of working layer belt layer cord laying angle,belt modulus,and belt width.The results show that compared to the angle and modulus,the width of the belt has a greater influence on tread wear.Based on the solving strategy of "implicit to explicit",the explicit dynamic model of the tire with complex patterns(12R22.5 all-steel radial truck tires)was established by using combined model technology.The tread wear of the all-steel truck tire with complex tread patterns in freerolling and braking conditions under the rated inflation pressure and load was simulated.The results show that under the same working conditions,the tread wear rate of tires with complex patterns is much greater than that of tires with longitudinal grooves.
