As a basic method of processing and connection,welding is widely used as a direct relationship with the development of steel structure engineering.As science and technology are developing,welding technology continues showing the superiority in steel structure engineering.However,there has not built a complete set of steel structure welding system in the current field of CAD(computer-aided design).At present,welding path planning remains manual operation or body-as-input automatic path planning.The former causes low efficiency,while the latter often makes big mistakes.The unsatisfactory facts lead to great significance to research and improve the automatic welding technology based on key points as input.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of steel structure and the research of spatial geometry theory,a new algorithm with corner points as input is proposed to deal with the welding path planning problem of complex steel frame structure,and the welding path planning system is designed and studied based on UG.Using NX 12.0 design environment and VS2017 development platform,the system menu and input dialog box are developed with four layers and six modules architecture.Combined with the characteristics of steel structure welding process and steel structure connection,an automatic welding path planning algorithm is designed,which can automatically plan the welding path of steel structure in three steps.Finally,the obtained welding path is supported by welding attributes.The system is easy to operate,user-friendly,using stairs and racing car chassis model to compare with the welding assistant,the system planning welding path faster and more accurate,to meet the design needs,solve the steel structure weld planning accuracy is low and non-standard problems,put into actual use to achieve the desired effect.
