Polygonum flavescens is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with homology of medicine and food.Polygonatum flavescens consists of polysaccharides,steroids,alkaloids and so on,while the polysaccharides is the most important part of it.At present,many studies have reported that Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides has antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,immune-enhancing effect.However,the wound healing is a complicated process and are often meet continuous infection,excessive inflammation and hypoxia.Therefore,based on the various excellent pharmacological activities of polysaccharides from Polygonatum,we directly made a variety of forms of wound auxiliary biological materials: suture lines and hemostasis sponges based on Polygonatum flavescens Specifically,we will study and elaborate in the following two parts.The first part studied the polycaprolactone(PCL)as the main body,adding a series of different concentrations of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides using electrospinning technology,by studying the ratio of PCL and Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharidess in the composite material,optimizing the loading efficiency of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides developed a special surgical suture with biological activity and drug controlled release by electrospinning PCL/Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides.Furthermore,in vitro antibacterial experiments have also proved that the prepared Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides surgical suture achieves a good antibacterial effect through sustained release of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides.In the second part,the polysaccharide was cross-linked with sodium periodate and then further subjected to vacuum freeze drying to form a Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides sponge,which can drain the wound exudates,promote blood coagulation,wound healing and kill bacteria.The obtained medical sponge has the uniform appearance,no damage and roughness,high porosity,and can be degradable and absorbable.Compared with the clinically used gel hemostatic sponge,Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides sponge can quickly and effectively stop bleeding,without secondary damage to the wound.At the same time,Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides can promote the healing of infected wounds due to its active antibacterial ingredients.Therefore,it is pioneering and innovative to invent the sutures and sponges based on Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharidess optimized by pharmaceutical methods that can not only take advantage of the pharmacological effects of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides but also have more diversified drug administration forms,which can be applied to wound hemostasis and wound repair,and prevent infection.
