As a new type of furniture material,the environmentally friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite material has strong aging resistance and water resistance.At the same time,the material can degrade by itself after being scrapped,which better solves the practical problems of urban waste.However,the application of materials in the field of outdoor furniture has not been systematically studied.Therefore,this thesis takes environmentally-friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite materials as the research object,conducts specific analysis and design application research through the design attributes of the materials,proposes design elements according to the material characteristics,and finally combines different outdoor spaces for the application of design solutions.The results of this study provide new ideas for the application of environmentally friendly PLA/WPC composites in outdoor furniture.The main conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1)Based on existing cases and literature references,conduct a specific analysis of outdoor furniture materials,functions,and colors,and propose that outdoor furniture should have the characteristics of material functionalization,diversified shapes,simple assembly,safe structure,and environmental integration.In turn,outdoor furniture develops towards environmental protection.(2)Polylactic acid is selected as the matrix to prepare environmentally friendly wood-plastic composites by compression molding.Studies have shown that the silane coupling agent is 1.0%,the wood fiber content is 30%,and the molding temperature is 180° C.Below,the mechanical properties of the material are the best.At the same time,the material's aging resistance,processing performance,and environmental protection performance are analyzed,and the environmentally friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite material has good adaptability in the field of outdoor furniture.(3)Research on the application of design elements for environmentally friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite materials.Determine the basic use function data,and propose additional functions in outdoor furniture based on material characteristics,thereby enhancing the added value of the product.The excellent mechanical properties and processing properties of the material directly affect the shape and structure of the product.The shape design is carried out through the existing production technology.At the same time,its design expression can also be visually assisted by the unique color and texture of the environmentally friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite material..In terms of structure,environmentally-friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite materials are greatly affected by industrial production equipment,and are basically disassembled structures.Design optimization ideas for structural aspects are carried out to enrich the connection methods of outdoor furniture for the future.The application of environmentally friendly polylactic acid wood-plastic composite materials in outdoor furniture provides a certain reference value.(4)Based on the above research results,the corresponding design principles were put forward,and the design practice in two different places was carried out,demonstrating the artistry of environmentally friendly PLA/WPC composite materials used in outdoor furniture.
