Vanadium dioxide(VO2)is an ideal thermochromic smart glass material which can be used to adjust indoor temperature.Since Granqvist first proposed to use the change of the near infrared transmittance of VO2 after high-temperature phase transformation to smart glass in the 1980s,there have been many breakthroughs and developments in the related basic and industrial research.However,the application of VO2 based smart glass coating has been restricted by its inherent unacceptable brown-yellow color,so the focus of this thesis is the improvement of the color of VO2 thin film,aiming at developing simple preparation process with cheap raw materials while maintaining the excellent thermochromic properties of the film..1.The composite materials of vanadium dioxide and 1,4-Bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)naphthalene were prepared and studied.The morphology,transmittance,thermochromism,fluorescence and color of the composite films were characterized.It was found that the color of the composite films changed to light blue or blue-green,and they had higher reversible thermochromism and better UV blocking properties.2.The VO2@SiO2/1,4-Bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)naphthalene/fluorocarbon composites materials were designed and studied.The transmittance,thermochromism,fluorescence and color of the composite films were characterized.The results show that stability of the films were improved due to the protection of the silica,meanwhile the composite films exhibited self-cleaning property to some extent because of the fluorocarbon layer.3.The composites of VO2@SiO2 and fluorinated tetraphenylethenes were studied.The transmittance,thermochromism,fluorescence and color of the composite films were characterized.It was found that the position and number of fluorine atoms and the polymer matrix had great influence on the luminous intensity and wavelength of the films.Due to the presence of tetraphenylethenes the composite films exhibited responsiveness towards heating.
