Thin-wall bearing ring is an important component of thin-wall bearing used in modern industrial robot.Due to its typical characteristics of high strength,high hardness and thin wall,its processing quality,processing efficiency and tool wear have been the problems to be solved urgently in the bearing manufacturing industry.Therefore,this article puts forward to cryogenic turning of thin-wall bearing rings GCr15 with CVD diamond tool.By finite element simulation test and cutting test,the effect of tool chamfering and cutting parameters on cutting force and cutting temperature was studied,and the effect of cutting parameters on the surface integrity is discussed.In addition,the tool wear is analyzed.The main research work of this paper is as follows:(1)The bearing ring is taken as the research object.The effect of chamfering width and angle on cutting force and temperature during hard turning is studied to determine tool parameters by using finite element simulation software: chamfering width is 0.05 mm,and chamfering angle is 10 °.It analyzes the influence of cutting speed and cutting depth on cutting force and temperature,and the ranges of cutting parameters are determined: the cutting speed is 100-200m/min,and the depth of cut is 0.02-0.08 mm.(2)The surface integrity of cryogenic turning of thin-wall bearing ring with CVD diamond tool is tested.It discusses the effects of cutting parameter on surface roughness,surface residual stress and work hardening.(3)The tool wear of CVD diamond tool in cryogenic turning of GCr15 bearing ring is analyzed.It uses rapid durability test method to compare tool life of CVD diamond tool and PCBN tool in turning bearing ring.It discusses the wear mechanism of cryogenic turning of thin-wall bearing ring with CVD diamond tool.
