The slope stability assessment of strip mines is one of the basic methods to prevent slope accidents. As an important basis, geophysical data has been widely adopted. When carrying out high-density electrical geophysical prospecting in strip mines, the unique side artificially formed is the step slope, and the other side is the step topography of the pit, which will cause the inversion results to be distorted. In order to study the influence of the current field distribution in the strip mine bench on the high-density electrical exploration, this problem is explained by a combination of theory and experiment. In theory, analyze the influence of terrain on high-density electrical method. In terms of experiment, through simulation of laboratory water tanks and soil tanks with similar materials, the distribution of the current field in the steps is revealed, and through Ansys simulation, according to the working principle and method of the high-density electrical detection system,a steady current is applied and the detection data is forwarded.According to this, the geological results were reversed and compared with experiments of similar materials.Studies have shown that there are phenomena such as reflection, refraction, and diffraction in a stable current field. The vector components of the current field are reflected at different interfaces, and the vector components of different current fields that appear will interfere again. It can be seen that the current does not just propagate vertically downwards. The current field distribution in the strip mine steps is different from the experimental results obtained under flat topography, and the current density near the step turning position is larger than the current density far away from the step turning position, that is,the current is concentrated at the step turning position. When using the high-density electrical method to explore the source of disasters on the slope of an open-pit mine, when the disaster sources such as cracks, cavities and water are close to the survey line position, the influence on the current field distribution in the steps is more obvious, and the dry cracks or cavities appear as High-resistance characteristics. When water penetrates into cracks or cavities,it shows low-resistance characteristics. However, when the disaster sources such as cracks, cavities and water are far away from the survey line, the influence on the current field distribution in the steps is not obvious. This phenomenon indicates that the relative position of the survey line has an important influence on the high-density electrical survey in the step during the field survey. In summary, the current field distribution in the strip mine bench will have an impact on the high-density electrical exploration, resulting in distortion of the inversion results. The research in this article helps to obtain accurate slope geophysical data, helps to ensure the slope stability of the strip mine and the safe production of the mine.
