With the increase of production capacity of Baotou Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd.and the decrease of iron concentrate resources in the area,the company's dependence on imported iron ore resources has been increasing.Compared with other coastal steel mills,Baotou Steel has the disadvantage of high transportation cost,but Baotou Steel is close to Mongolia,so it is necessary to actively develop and utilize the advantages of iron ore resources in Mongolia,improve the proportion of Mongolia ore,and reduce the procurement cost of iron raw materials.However,the prominent problem of Mongolian ore production is the high sulfur content,which is generally above 2.5%.The problem of high sulfur has become the "bottleneck" of rational utilization of mineral resources in Mongolia.In view of the above problem,this paper is to Mongolia magnetic iron ore concentrate as the research object,a detailed process mineralogy research,laboratory drop sulfur flotation experiment,industrial experiment to determine a suitable for the technological process and pharmaceutical system,but the Mongolian contain a certain amount of carbonate minerals in the mine,under the condition of the conventional acid flotation pulp,carbonate minerals much acid as activator,Cause the dosage of drugs is large.The process flow and reagents system for reducing sulfur of pyrrhotite type high sulfur carbon containing alkaline Mongolian iron ore were determined through the optimization experiment of new reagents,which were successfully applied in industrial production.The new reagent adopts the high efficient slow release type weak acid activator,which has a slow release rate of hydrogen ions,a certain buffering ability,a small reduction range of pulp p H value,and strong activation ability.At the same time,alkaline gangue shield passivating agent is added into the activator,which can form a relatively stable passivating adsorption layer on the surface of carbonate minerals in a weak acid environment,and slow down the consumption rate of hydrogen ions by such gangue.Experimental study show that the project research of flotation desulfurization process and new reagent combination is a breakthrough in ore dressing technology,successfully realizes the effective separation of magnetic iron ore concentrate and pyrrhotite.In the flotation feed iron grade is 67.42%,S grade is 2.18%,through the flotation desulfurization process process to obtain the final concentrate iron grade is 67.85%,iron recovery is91.66%,sulfur grade is 0.44%,desulfurization rate is 82.98%.The results of industrial production show that the iron grade is 57.76% and S grade is3.13% in the raw ore of Mongolia mine.By adopting the process of low intensity magnetic separation and flotation desulphurization,the iron concentrate yield is 72.53%,TFe67.85%,S grade is 0.44%,iron recovery is 86.70%,and the total separation ratio is 1.38.Another product,sulfur concentrate with sulfur content of 18.41% and TFe60.50%.The production technology of desulfurization is feasible and the desulfurization effect is remarkable.
