A fashion criticism is an activity that comments on fashion and fashion related factors and plays an extremely important role in the fashion industry.However,with the rapid development of media,the advent of omnimedia era,the change of consumer willingness and habits,the impact of social media,relying on paper-based traditional fashion criticism in trouble,fashion criticism seems to be no longer needed by the fashion industry.In this context,fashion criticism began to demand a breakthrough,the birth of a new group of fashion critics who injected new life into fashion criticism through visual communication.At the same time,fashion criticism has changed dramatically in terms of communication form,content and point of view.By using the methods of literature analysis,case analysis and comparative analysis,this paper sorts out and analyzes the development of fashion criticism in omnimedia era,and sums up the three main stages of fashion criticism.At the same time,it puts forward the communication model of the current development of fashion criticism,and makes a detailed analysis of Vogue fashion criticism as a case study,studying the more than 30 years since the appearance of the Internet,the concrete changes in the form,content and characteristics of fashion criticism.In the era of media,visual communication is gradually replacing text as the mainstream reading method of fashion criticism,and the content of the criticism is no longer limited to fashion itself,but more related to social issues.At the same time,both traditional and new fashion critics are actively adapting to the requirements of the times,looking for a suitable form of communication and platform,and strive to make fashion criticism to give a new lease of life,and promote the fashion industry’s continuous progress.
