China is a big country of rice production and consumption.But with the development of economy and the continuous improvement of residents’ living standards,consumers have higher requirements for the quality and taste of rice.leading to serious overprocessing phenomenon in China’s rice processing industry,while rice bran and broken rice,the by-products of rice processing,have not been fully utilized.Therefore,it is of great significance to separate and reuse rice bran and broken rice as by-products of rice processing.The main contents and research results of this paper are as follows:(1)According to the aerodynamic principle and combining the physical characteristics of rice bran and broken rice,a rice bran broken rice separation device combining vibration screening and suction air selection was designed,and the Solid Works software was used for three-dimensional modeling.(2)As the proportion of rice bran and broken rice particles is light,the internal flow field of the separation device has an important influence on the movement of rice bran and broken rice.Therefore,ANSYS Workbench software is used to analyze the internal flow field of the separation device.In ANSYS Workbench software,through the model import,mesh division,relevant parameter setting and post-processing,the internal flow field velocity cloud map of the device is obtained.By changing the suction speed and the device structure,the corresponding speed cloud image is analyzed.The simulation results show that: with the increase of suction speed,the overall speed of the device will increase;When the suction velocity is the same,the overall velocity of the internal flow field in the separation device is higher when the width of the lower edge of the arch baffle is 100 mm.(3)Based on the gas-solid coupling theory,the separation device of rice bran and broken rice was numerically analyzed.Based on the gas-solid coupling theory,this study adopts DEM-CFD coupling simulation,Hertz-Mindlin contact model and Lagrangian coupling model for computational simulation.In the separation process of rice bran and broken rice,the motion trajectory,motion process and distribution of rice bran and broken rice are analyzed respectively.Under different suction speeds and different structures,the separation effect of rice bran was analyzed.The simulation results showed that the separation effect of rice bran and broken rice was the best when the lower width of the arch partition was 100 mm and the suction speed was 6m/s.(4)In order to verify the feasibility of the study on the separation of rice bran and broken rice by DEM-CFD coupling method,the physical construction of the rice bran and broken rice separation device was carried out,and the flow field in the test device was measured;In order to reduce the experimental error,the motion process of rice bran and broken rice was locally filmed.The distribution and velocity of rice bran in the separation device were analyzed by using PIV image processing technology,the test results were in good agreement with the coupling simulation results;by changing the structure of the arch clapboard,the collected rice bran particles were measured regularly and quantitatively.It was found that the separation efficiency of rice bran was better with the increase of the width and height of the arch clapboard.
