In recent years, the exploitation of the world’s main oil fields has entered the middle and late stage, and the world’s crude oil is becoming increasingly heavy. However, unconventional heavy oil has the characteristics of high viscosity and density, which brings great challenges to the storage and transportation of inferior heavy oil.The development of heavy oil upgrading and upgrading technology has become an urgent need.In order to improve the utilization ratio of Canada oil sand asphalt and catalyst as much as possible,it is necessary to control the hydrogenation process accurately. In this paper, the typical inferior heavy oil Canada oil sand asphalt is taken as the research object to carry out the hydrogenation and upgrading reaction in a 0.5L batch reactor, analyze the properties of the modified oil and the coke production, and explore the hydrogenation and upgrading reaction Based on the research results,a reasonable mechanism of Canada oil sand asphalt hydro-upgrading was discussed. The main results of this paper are as follows:1.For Canadian oil sand asphalt, the initial hydrogen pressure is 10-14 MPa at390-415℃,reaction time is 30min-4h,stirring speed is 800 r / min,and the viscosity of oil can be reduced from 56600 mpa · s at 50 ℃ to tens of millipaseconds after hydrogenation and upgrading, which is very obvious, and can meet the needs of pipeline transportation.2.The presence of catalyst in the reaction process can significantly increase the consumption of hydrogen;compared with the reaction with and without catalyst,it is found that adding catalyst can reduce coking to a certain extent,at the same time, after adding catalyst, the viscosity of modified oil decreases, and the yield increases.3.The increase of reaction pressure can obviously inhibit the generation of coking, improve the product quality and improve the reaction depth. The increase of reaction temperature and reaction time will increase the consumption of hydrogen and the possibility of coking. On the premise of ensuring no coking, the shortest coking time will decrease rapidly with the increase of reaction temperature;the increase of reaction temperature and reaction time will promote the decrease of viscosity of modified oil,but there is an optimal value.4.The mechanism of viscosity reduction of Canadian oil sand asphalt after hydrogenation and upgrading is mainly the conversion of asphalt or gum after reaction. In the early stage of reaction, asphalt is mainly light, and in the middle stage, gum is mainly converted. In addition, the decrease of heteroatom and metal content also promoted the decrease of viscosity.
