ASME SA240-S32101 duplex stainless steel thin orifice cylinder is the core component of TSA pre-purifier in environmental protection industry.It has a wide application prospect in air purification equipment industry.The use of N alloying technology has improved the weldability of modern duplex stainless steel.However,compared with the usual austenitic stainless steel,duplex stainless steel still has many problems in welding,among which the outstanding problem is the influence of the thermal cycling process on the microstructure,toughness,plasticity and corrosion resistance of the welded joint.At the same time,there are the following difficulties in the welding of duplex stainless steel thin orifice cylinder in engineering manufacturing:1.There are holes,cracks and other welding defects;2.The roundness of the thin-hole plate cylinder is easy to be out of tolerance;3.Low welding quality and manufacturing efficiency.As a key component in the TSA pre-purifier project,the duplex stainless steel thin orifice cylinder was initially manufactured in a South American country.However,due to problems such as welding quality and manufacturing efficiency,it could not meet the requirements of North American users,so it was transferred to China for manufacturing.NAMAG's first S32101 duplex stainless steel thin orifice cylinder is also due to weld crack defects and low production efficiency reasons and difficulties.This paper mainly studies the following aspects:1.The characteristics and application the new structure of ASME SA240-S32101 duplex stainless steel and its thin orifice cylinder new structure were studied,and its weldability was analyzed from the aspects of chemical composition,microstructure of the base materialand phase structure transformation during welding;2.The new process experiment was conducted with adopting the FCAW welding method of the domestic American standard new welding material E2209T0-1 flux cored wire.The single-side V-groove was improved,the new welding parameter matching and the appropriate heat input were set,and the experiment was conducted according to the standard.The test results show that the performance indexes of the welds welded by the new technology are improved;3.A new type of welding grounding device is designed,which can effectively improve the welding quality and production efficiency.A new type of supporting flange tooling is designed and made to solve the roundness problem of large diameter thin hole plate barrel.The design and manufacture of the horizontal and vertical movement of the outer longitudinal seam outer ring seam of the new operation platform can further improve the production efficiency.According to the new technology,the quality of welded products is improved by 81%and the production efficiency is improved by 133%;4.For the first time,the efficient welding process of ASME SA240-S32101 duplex stainless steel thin orifice barrel is formulated,which solves the welding defects and roundness of the duplex stainless steel thin orifice barrel,fills the domestic gap of the research on welding process of S32101 duplex stainless steel thin orifice barrel and the welding of the product,and preliminarily explores its industrialization.The results of procedure qualification test and product welding show that the excellent welding seam welded by ASME SA240-S32101 duplex stainless steel thin orifice plate and the cylinder with standard roundness can be made by designing appropriate groove,selecting matching welding material,adopting appropriate process measures,controlling welding elements and preparing appropriate fixture;Through the process test and product welding summary.For the first time,the new equation of the relationship between the welding parameters of the new process is proposed;5.Finally,the research direction and prospect of further improving the welding quality and efficiency of duplex stainless steel thin orifice barrel are put forward.
