Due to the ever-increasing demand for new materials, material revolution with the destination of both inherent properties and special functions has been the general trend. As a representative of special engineering plastics, poly aryl ether materials exihibit excellent overall performance.Taking advantage of the characteristics of high mechanical strength, excellent temperature resistance, radiation resistance and good chemical stability of these materials,in recent years, more attention has been paid to the research on the functionalization of poly aryl ether.Currently,by physical or chemical methods, the functional groups are introduced into the poly aryl ether matrix to obtain functional high-performace materials with excellent comprehensive properties. In order to ensure the properties,it is crutial to screen the components introduced into the polymer matrix which mainly following the principles of good compatibility, performance(such as thermal stability, chemical stability)matching with polyaryl ether ketone.A series of new heavy metal alkynes or oligomers, represented by platinum aromatic alkynes, have emerged optical limiting and other photoelectric fields. The platinum acetylene unit and ? electron conjugated structure make it unique in optical physical properties, with the outstanding stability and strong third-order nonlinear absorption effect. However,in the process of molecular modification,to pursue large reverse saturated absorbtion, increasing the conjugate system will affect its transparency and solubility. Moreover,in the case of high concentration, certain aggregation phenomenon will occur in solution or solid matrix, which limits its application. In this paper, based on the design of molecular structure, firstly a variety of platinum aromatic alkyne monomers which can be used in the nucleophilic polymerization were constructed.Subsequently, soluble Pt-acetylide containing poly(arylene ether)s were prepared by introducing platinum aromatic alkyne groups into the molecular chain, and the influence of the different proportion and conjugate system of platinum aromatic alkyne groups on polymerization activity were explored. In order to avoid polymer crosslinking caused by the high concentration of platinum aromatic alkyne groups, the branched block hyperbranched copolymer of poly(arylene ether)s containing platinum aromatic alkyne groups was designed and synthesized.By changing the length of polymer chain segment and solution blending with the fluorinated poly(ether sulfone)polymer, the mechanical properties and linear permeability of the resultant materials were improved, resulting in the superior reverse saturation absorption effect. The solid state optical limiting material was successfully prepared and z-scanning test to the prepared materials was carried out.Compared with the poly(ether sulfone)polymer without introducing platinum aromatic alkyne component, the optical limiting ability of the prepared materials were significantly promoted. This work provided a new way to solve the balance between linear transmittance and limiting capability faced by platinum aromatic alkyne solid state optical limiting devices, and to design and construct new type of functional highperformance plastic.
