Horkheimer’s Critical Thought Of Enlightenment And Its Value Of Ecological Civilization

Horkheimer’s critique of enlightenment opened the precedent of the Frankfurt School’s critical theory.He pointed out that the essence of spiritual criticism of enlightenment is to criticize the alienation of enlightenment.This paper makes an in-depth study of the connotation and characteristics of Horkheimer’s critical thoughts of enlightenment,which can help us evaluate Horkheimer’s critical thoughts of enlightenment comprehensively and objectively.Secondly,Horkheimer pursues the identity of man and nature,which reflects his pursuit of ecological ethics and guides human beings to pursue the natural world with the unity of nature and man,which also provides beneficial enlightenment for the construction of ecological civilization in China.In this paper: The first part is based on the family background and the historical background of Horkheimer,combining with the theoretical source of Horkheimer’s enlightenment critical thought,to find the source for us to study Horkheimer’s enlightenment critical thought.The second part focuses on the content and characteristics of Horkheimer’s enlightenment criticism.From enlightenment to enlightenment alienation and then to enlightenment criticism,it reveals the inevitability of enlightenment criticism step by step.From the characteristics of Horkheimer’s enlightenment criticism to analyze the integrity of his thought,and then points out the spiritual essence of enlightenment criticism for us.The third part elaborates from two aspects: the harmonious development of man and nature and the ecological crisis.From the four aspects of "the yearning for idyllic life",the same between man and nature,the ecological crisis caused by enlightenment reason,and the criticism of instrumental reason,this paper reveals the implication of ecological civilization contained in Horkheimer’s enlightenment criticism.The fourth part,combined with Horkheimer’s critical thought of enlightenment and the concept of ecological civilization,draws the enlightenment of China’s ecological civilization construction.One is to stick to the dialectical standpoint of enlightenment rationality;the second is to advocate the harmonious coexistence between human and nature;Third,the reconstruction of ecological civilization development philosophy;Fourth,formulate feasible ecological risk management plans.
