| In the anti-wear additives used in lubricating oils,the use of ZDDP is limited by environmental protection and pressure because of its high phosphorus content.Another antiwear additive containing molybdenum is difficult to be used broadly because of its high production cost and deep color.Therefore,the development of lubricating oil additive with environmental protection,low cost,low coefficient of friction,will play an important role to improve the energy saving and emission reduction.Recent studies have shown that borate,as a lubricant additive,can greatly improve the lubricity,heat resistance,oxygen resistance,rust resistance,detergency,dispersion and environmental protection of lubricating oils.To this end,boric acid and its salts are used to modify the traditional calcium naphthenate to get borated calcium naphthenate additive with high alkaline value.The evaluation of its performance in oil products was also finished.This research not only makes full use of the special macromolecular naphthenic acid in Xinjiang Oil Field,but also provides a new multipurpose lubrication additive for the market.In this paper,the process of preparing calcium naphthenate with high alkaline value is divided into two steps: the first step is to synthesize calcium naphthenate additive with overbased value;the second step is to synthesize calcium naphthenate additive with high alkaline value with boric acid,calcium hydroxide,petroleum ether and calcium naphthenate with superbasic value as raw materials by double decomposition and boration technology.In the research process,the initial reaction temperature,the amount of boric acid,solvents,additives and other reaction materials,the types and effects of additives are investigated,and the stability experiments of product formulations in batches and pilot-scale laboratory studies are carried out.The results show that the formulation of the calcium naphthenate product with high boron content and high alkali value is stable,and the physical and chemical indices of the product meet the requirement of the research target.In addition,the properties of produced borated calcium naphthenate with high alkaline value,such as water resistance,coking resistance and abrasion resistance,were evaluated respectively.Common oils and additives are selected to evaluate the wear resistance of the products.The results show that calcium naphthenate with high alkaline number boride is an excellent anti-wear additive,and it has good synergistic anti-wear effect with other additives. |
