Jin Dynasty ruled northern China for about 120 years,not too long compared to other dynasties,but it formed its own characteristics in terms of burial and architecture,and was an important period in Chinese history and popular in archaeology.Dietary culture has always been an important aspect of archaeological research,generally combining human bones,burial excavations of farming tools,cooking utensils,dietary utensils,and very few food remains to expand the exploration,with good results.During the Qin and Han Dynasties,as the concept of "death is like living" took root,the four walls of the tombs were painted to imitate the life of the tomb owners,and the portrait stones and bricks of the Han dynasty,the brick carvings and murals of the Northern Song Dynasty emerged,showing some characteristics of the time in terms of dietary,travel,and religion,and the murals of the tombs of Jin Dynasty are no exception.This paper will be divided into six parts to research the tombs of Jin Dynasty with dietary motifs or dietary-related content brick carvings or murals in Shanxi between 1127-1230 A.D.,and the general contents are as follows.The first chapter is the introduction,including the source of the topic,the current status of research and the temporal and spatial scope of the research object.The second chapter is the research background and archaeological findings,including a brief description of the Jin Dynasty of history of Shanxi,the phasing and zoning of the research object and its regional characteristics.The third chapter is the research of the content of dietary themes,including their classification and characteristics.The fourth chapter is the research of dietary artifacts that appear in wall paintings,covering dietary utensils,related tools,cooking utensils and kitchen equipment.Chapter 5 is the research of related issues,including the research of the food appearing in the murals,the diet and social life reflected in the Jin Dynasty,and comparative researches of the dietary culture in the murals of the tombs of Jin Dynasty in Shanxi and surrounding areas.Chapter 6 is the concluding remarks,which provides summary and overview of the contents of this paper.
