| Health is an important guarantee for residents to live happily. With the development of my country’s social economy and medical standards, the average life expectancy of residents has continued to increase, and the premature mortality rate of major diseases has also been declining year by year. However, people’s mental health problems have become increasingly prominent, and the prevalence of chronic diseases has become increasingly severe, which poses a huge threat to public health.Green space is an important part of the urban and rural environment.Existing research shows that there is an association between green space and residents’ health behavior or health outcomes.Optimizing green space planning can be an important way to promote residents’ physical and mental health. However, the current domestic research generally only focuses on a certain health index,or only focuses on a specific city. There is still a lack of comprehensive research on green space and residents’ physical and mental health, and lack of local theoretical guidance on green space planning that can be applied across the country.Exploring the impact of residential green space on residents’ physical and mental health is of great significance for guiding urban and rural green space planning. It can promote the construction of "healthy cities" and "healthy villages" and realize a healthy China.Combined with the research purpose, the paper launched a research on a national health data survey, combined the health data and NDVI data, which used to characterize the green space,to explore the relationship between the green space and residents’ physical and mental health.First, with the help of descriptive statistics and spatial measurement,we had mastered the statistical and geographical distribution characteristics of the research samples.Secondly, through correlation analysis and multicollinearity test,we incorporated the covariates that might cause interference into the research model.Thirdly,we used Logistic regression model and restricted cubic spline to analyze the relationship between residential green space and residents’ self-rated health, mental health, and chronic diseases. The results showed that the promotion effect of green space on residents’ self-rated health had a peak, the promotion effect of green space on mental health had a positive and negative inflection point, and green space could also reduce the residents’ risk of hypertension and diabetes. In addition, the impact of green space on different groups of people was also different. After that,we sorted out and discussed the main research conclusions, and found that "medium-to-high coverage level" was the most suitable residential green space level for the overall health of residents. Then we combined relevant foreign literature to discuss and analyze the research and results of various health dimensions, and put forward relevant suggestions for green space planning. This research provided a theoretical reference for healthy urban and rural green space planning, and was of positive significance for implementing the healthy China strategy and promoting the physical and mental health of residents. |
