The quality of Chinese medicinal materials is closely related to their growth environment,and soil is the main environmental factor in the formation of medicinal materials.The content of heavy metals in the soil affects the quality of medicinal materials.As a traditional Chinese medicine for nourishing Polygonatum sibiricum,its application value has attracted more and more attention.However,most of the research mainly focuses on the comparison of the authenticity and the difference in the content of active ingredients of Polygonatum sibiricum.The influence of soil environmental quality in different producing areas on the quality of Polygonatum sibiricum is still unclear.In this study,9 representative Polygonatum sibiricum producing areas were selected nationwide,and 145 groups of of Polygonatum sibiricum-soil samples were collected.Determined the quality factor of Polygonatum,polysaccharides,heavy metals and other mineral elements and soil pH,bulk density,nutrients,heavy metals and other mineral elements.The single pollution index method and the Nemerow comprehensive pollution index method were used to evaluate the soil environmental quality of the of Polygonatum sibiricum production areas,and the Pearson correlation coefficient method was used to study the relationship between soil heavy metals and nutrients and the quality of medicinal materials.The results of the study were as follows:(1)The content of heavy metals in the soils of different Polygonatum sibiricum producing areas was very different.The content of heavy metals Cd,As,Pb,and Cr in the soils of some producing areas was slightly polluted.In particular,there were relatively more Cd and As polluted areas,but they were all lower than the soil risk control value.(2)There were significant differences in soil nutrients in different producing areas,and the soil was rich in K,Ca,Mg,and P content.Zn,Pb,Cd and As were the characteristic mineral elements of the soil where Polygonatum sibiricum grows,and could be used as the basis for determining the soil where Polygonatum grows.(3)The heavy metals Zn and Pb in the soil had a very significant positive correlation with the active ingredient polysaccharides of Polygonatum sibiricum;the content of heavy metals Zn,Cu,Pb,Cd,As and Cr in the soil had a significant correlation with the content of heavy metals in the Polygonatum sibiricum.Polygonatum sibiricum had a stronger ability to accumulate heavy metal Cd than other heavy metals,so it is necessary to strictly monitor the content of heavy metal Cd in the soil.(4)Soil pH,bulk density,available potassium(AvK)and available phosphorus(AvP)were all significantly correlated with heavy metal content in Polygonatum sibiricum.Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide had a significant positive correlation with soil bulk density,and a significant negative correlation with soil total nitrogen content.The research on Polygonatum sibiricum resources and the influence of soil environmental quality of the production area on Polygonatum sibiricum quality provides good reference value for the ecological and standardized planting of Polygonatum sibiricum.
