Research On The Influence Mechanism Of Informal Environmental Regulation On Green Innovation ——Empirical Analysis Based On 281 Prefecture-level Cities In China

After the reform and opening up,China’s economy has achieved rapid growth,but the price of rapid economic growth is environmental degradation and resource depletion.Therefore,environmental issues closely related to human beings have become important constraints for China’s economic transformation and innovative development.In recent years,with the enhancement of public awareness of environmental protection,informal environmental regulation has become an important force in environmental protection,and is considered to be the third wave of regulation after government-led command-and-control and government-led market-oriented environmental regulation.As an important way of informal environmental regulation,environmental information disclosure has become an indispensable means and tool in the process of environmental management.Based on the background of environmental information disclosure,which was implemented in 2008,this paper studies its impact on green innovation and its mechanism of action.This is an important theory for the country to strengthen the governance of the ecological environment,promote the improvement of the level of green innovation,and achieve a win-win situation between the environment and the economy.value and practicality.This paper follows the logic main line of "discovering problems-theoretical analysis empirical analysis-solving problems",based on relevant literature and theories,and based on the panel data of 281 prefecture-level cities in my country from 2003 to 2017,focusing on environmental information disclosure to green innovation impact research.First,the impact of environmental information disclosure on green innovation is estimated using the asymptotic difference-in-difference method,and the robustness test is carried out.Secondly,it analyzes the impact mechanism of environmental information disclosure on green innovation from an empirical perspective.Then,the regional heterogeneity test is carried out from two aspects of industrialization level and economic development level.Finally,according to the empirical results,the research conclusions are obtained,and feasible suggestions are put forward.Through the research,the following conclusions are finally drawn: First,the environmental information disclosure started in 2008 can significantly improve the level of urban green innovation.Second,environmental information disclosure effectively promotes urban green innovation by optimizing the innovation environment,increasing innovation input and gathering innovative talents;third,environmental information disclosure fails to promote urban green innovation by increasing green consumption.Fourth,the promotion of environmental information disclosure on green innovation is more significant in cities with low and medium levels of industrialization.Fifth,the promotion of environmental information disclosure on green innovation is more significant in cities with high economic development levels.According to the research conclusions,this paper puts forward the following five suggestions: first,improve the environmental information disclosure system and improve the level of environmental information disclosure;second,strengthen the government’s guiding and promoting role in green innovation;third,stimulate the public’s awareness of green consumption and Fourth,accelerate the industrial transformation of cities with high industrialization levels;fifth,pay attention to and support cities with low and medium economic development levels.
