| The stealth technology for the electromagnetic waves(EMW)is the key to enhance the survivability or penetration ability of a weapon system in the battlefield by reducing the radar crossing section(RCS).It can be classified into active stealth technology and passive stealth technology according to whether the energy consumption is needed in the process of stealth.However,there are many other ways to classify the stealth technology.With the development of the science and technology,there are many new stealth technologies that have been developed.And the plasma stealth technology belongs to them.Comparing with the traditional stealth technologies,the plasma stealth technology has the advantages of wide bandwidth for stealth,well effect in absorbing the EMW,convenience in practice,etc.And it tally with the features of "Thin","Light","Wide","High",etc.pursued in the modern stealth technology.The plasma can be induced by charged particles emitted from the radioactive sources,and it is an effective method of plasma generation.As reported in the related literatures inside and abroad,the investigations on the plasma stealth technology have stayed mostly in the stage of a given frequency.The influence of theβ-radioactivity substances on the electromagnetic scattering of plane,cylinder,sphere,etc.is investigated in this paper.This paper is divided into five chapters to research the plasma stealth technology.The first two chapters are introduction and theory background respectively,and the last three chapters are the results.The conclusions are as follows:1.The influence of β-radioactivity substances on the electromagnetic scattering of a conductor plane is investigated in the third chapter.The reflectivity of a plane with 90Sr coating is about-7dB at the radioactivity of 10Ci/cm2 for the EMW frequency of 1GHz-10 GHz,when the EMW is vertically incident.And the corresponding value is about-14dB when the incident angle of the EMW is 60°.As the thickness of the plasma induced by β-particles from 147Pm is thinner relatively,the stealth effect of plasma induced by β-particles from 147Pm is weaker than 90Sr at the frequency of GHz.2.The influence of β-radioactivity coating on the electromagnetic scattering of a conductor cylinder is investigated in the fourth chapter.The scattering width(SW)of a cylinder coated with 90Sr for the EMW at the frequency of 100MHz-1GHz can be effectively decreased.The decrease amplitude of the bi-static SW in the backscattering region is about 3dB at the radioactivity of 10Ci/cm2 for the EMW vertically incident.The stealth effect for the EMW obliquely incident is better,since the decrease amplitude can reach 2-30 dB when the incident angle θ is smaller than 30°.3.The influence of β-radioactivity coating on the electromagnetic scattering of a conductor sphere is investigated in the fifth chapter.The sphere has an effective stealth effect for the EMW at the frequency of GHz.The radar cross section(RCS)of the sphere in the backscattering region can be decreased by 2dB at the radioactivity of 10Ci/cm2 for the EMW frequency of 1GHz and sphere radius of 0.5m. |
