W company is one of the leading companies in commercial vehicle industry for vehicle control system.W company focuses on the new product research and development to keep its technology leadership position,it is the core competence and one of three main strategy pillars of W company.Localization of research and development capability which means from “Made in China” to “design for China” is the focus of the company strategic transformation.The effective of building a strong R&D organization especially the design engineering team is the core elements to keep company competitiveness and one of the major management problem faced by W company.Job analysis is the most basic but important base in human management.Conduct the job analysis effectively for R&D different job position in a systematic and scientific way to collect all the data,as input for strategy workforce plan decision making and enable an effective re-design of R&D organization structure and manpower planning.Job analysis becomes to be basic and critical for W company strategy achievement.Based on the study of human resource management and job analysis theory,I participated and led the R&D center job analysis project.Based on the job analysis theory and W company R&D center current status diagnostic vs.company strategy target,design the strategic job analysis.The statement of work documentation was created and will be the guideline and base for the follow up human resource management activities.Strategic job analysis,interviewing methods have been used in this project.Additionally 6S roadmap and tools was implemented in the project as well.This paper will be organized in 5 parts.1st part is introduction,introduced the background and meaning of this research.2nd part is job analysis theory research and study.3rd part is current status introduction and issue diagnostic of W company.4th part is job analysis design and implementation.5th part is summary and evaluation of job analysis at W company.It is a great opportunity for me to put what I learn from MBA into practice.It can be the guide for a global company in China,or the Chinese local companies who are facing the problem of conducting a job analysis for engineering positions.
