The Evolution And Inheritance Of The Cultural Connotation Of City Form Based On Place Names In Yuzhong District,Chongqing

With the urbanization,informatization and globalization,the disappearance of urban characteristic culture leads to the phenomenon of urban amnesia is quite common,so the exploration and protection of local cultural characteristics has become an urgent matter.As the historical and cultural carrier of immaterial forms,place names are a unique perspective and entry point for the study of urban forms and cultural origins.It is beneficial to excavate and protect local cultural characteristics and to provide reference for the protection and planning of place names by linking them with urban forms and studying the evolution and inheritance of the naming features of place names and their reflected urban forms and cultural connotations.Yuzhong district,as the mother city of chongqing,has rich historical place-name resources.Taking yuzhong district of chongqing as an example,in terms of horizontal space,this paper explores the naming characteristics of place names and their mapping urban morphology and cultural connotation from three aspects: the area name,the line name,the road name,the point name and the public space name.Longitudinal time,combined with the historical development of chongqing,it is divided into three periods:the late qing dynasty,the republic of China and the republic of China.Image interpretation,mathematical statistics,this article,through the ancient map toponym database established,methods of GIS space analysis,combing the yuzhong district named characteristics and spatial distribution law of place names,and from the geographical environment,urban construction,historical events,social and cultural aspects to explore law characteristic factors,further explore places and correlation of urban morphology,urban culture,and the mapping of the name change geographical characteristics,urban development,political economy,religious beliefs and the evolution of urban form and the cultural connotation,and finally,summarizes through the name change of the law on places of heritage protection and planning of enlightenment and practical case analysis.The paper concludes that the geographical names are correlated with the urban morphology: the density of street geographical names is positively correlated with the population density;The geographical names of administrative areas correspond to the administrative system level,showing strong hierarchical characteristics.The place name of the road matches the grade,length and function of the road.The place names of buildings reflect the information of architectural function and culture.The change of geographical names reflects the evolution of urban form and cultural connotation.The new place names reflect the sequence and direction of urban development.The change of geographical names reflects the change and development of functional space in different periods.Place names reflect changes in economy,politics,culture,religion,and some place names reflect immigration information.In addition,the naming characteristics of place names themselves show the following rules: the same place names and the place names produced in the same period have the characteristics of centralized distribution,and the place names have distinct characteristics of The Times;The general name is gradually standardized,and the special name is diversified and symbolized.The interpenetration of various place names leads to the expansion and blurring of the boundary of finger position.The geographical names of administrative areas have stronger historical inclusiveness,the geographical names of roads have better inheritance and stability,and the architectural geographical names have the most obvious symbol characteristics with the worst inheritance.Natural environment,regime change,economic change,social culture,urban planning and people’s cognition of place names all promote the formation and evolution of place name pattern.Finally,aiming at the inheritance and utilization of geographical name culture,this paper puts forward some Suggestions on the planning of geographical name naming and the hierarchical protection and utilization of historical and cultural geographical names,and analyzes the application of geographical name planning in yuzhong district of chongqing.
