The situation of China’s population aging is becoming more and more serious. It is estimated that by 2053,the level of population aging will rise to 34.8%.Public transportation is the main support for the elderly. With the continuous progress of the aging process, the proportion of the expanding elderly group in the public transportation activities continues to increase. In recent years, large cities have taken rail transit as the focus of their public transportation planning. At present, the planning and construction of rail transit is oriented to meet the needs of commuting, and with the construction of urban rail transit, the passenger flow commitment rate of urban ground bus continue to reduce, the traditional public transport travel mode of the elderly is facing great changes.Ensuring the travel quality of the elderly is an important part of ensuring fair traffic. The rail transit system must fully consider the travel needs of the elderly. This article will focus on mega-cities with rail transit as the main mode of travel, and conduct research on whether its rail transit service mode and planning and construction can meet the travel needs of the elderly.Guangzhou City, which takes the "track city" as its construction goal, has rich subway network resources. In addition,Guangzhou has fully entered the aging society, and the aging problem is becoming more and more serious. This article takes Guangzhou as an example.First,it proposes a method for restoring the travel chain of the elderly based on the public transport smart card data, and analyzes the travel characteristics and differences of the elderly from multiple dimensions of time and space,in order to analyzes their travel demand characteristics.Secondly,an improved accessibility measurement model is proposed, using Baidu map API and other methods, and the accessibility level of medical services, which is one of the basic travel activities of the elderly,is used as the evaluation standard to evaluate the service level of the subway for elderly travel difference. Finally, based on the Gini coefficient in economics, this paper introduces traffic parameters such as per capita station rate and daily average passenger traffic turnover, constructs traffic Gini coefficient evaluation index, and evaluates the fairness of subway resource allocation. The analysis results show that there are obvious differences in the travel of the elderly in different areas of Guangzhou. The connectivity of the lines and the number of stations are the key factors that affect the travel needs of the elderly and the accessibility of the subway. But in some areas such as Panyu District has low service rates, which reflects that the existing subway network construction does not take too many medical service factors into account. The medical service accessibility of the subway has obvious spatial aggregation and spatial differentiation characteristics, and the overall distribution is a layered distribution centered on the Yuexiu area and gradually decreasing outwards.Traffic fairness is closely related to the population situation and the planning of subway lines. The travel opportunities assessed by the elderly population are relatively reasonable, but the distribution of traffic resources in the built-up areas are highly unfair. The planning and construction of rail transit should fully consider the development trend of the elderly population and the basic needs of the elderly. The location and transfer settings of line stations should be coordinated with the planning of the basic service facilities required by the elderly.
