Historical and cultural blocks have dual characteristics of history and culture,it carries many great material historical environment and the intangible cultural life scenes.Although the government and the public pay more attention to the protection of historical and cultural blocks,the development of social economy,and the change of residents’ social relations and life style still trigger a phenomenon like the low utilization rate of public space in historical and cultural blocks and the contradiction between residents’ activity demands and public space The analysis of public space contradiction and the response to public space improvement,has become an important issue in the historical and cultural blocks research.The study of public space involves space and society levels.As an important analysis method of sociology,social network analysis can be applied to urban planning disciplines and historical and cultural blocks from multiple perspectives.Owing to the background,the author take social network analysis as the emphasis of public space in historical and cultural blocks from theoretical and practical aspects.In theory,the author consulted literature and materials about social network analysis and public space research.The theoretical relevance of social network analysis and public space is clarified,the content of social network analysis in public space is determined.In practice,the author summarizes relevant cases of social network analysis and sorts out the research content and methods.The characteristic index and meaning of social network analysis are clarified,and the concrete methods of social network analysis of public space in historical and cultural blocks are determined.In order to show the practical application of the theoretical and practical results better,The author chooses Tongcheng the one of the famous historical and cultural cities in Anhui Province,takes the historical and cultural block of Tongcheng East-Street as the research object to analyze the social network of the public space.According to the results combs the object of public space renewal,puts forward the renewal strategy.Reflects the development and implementation of the research on the renewal of public space in historical and cultural blocks,shows the application prospect and provides ideas for the next research work.
