As the growth rate of vehicles and drivers in China has been maintained at a high level for many years,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to conduct thorough research on traffic safety.Creating a real sense of vehicle control and visual feedback are perceived as the priority of driving simulator research.The systems of high-realistic is overpriced,and the related technology is commercial secret,which is unobtainable.In order to develop a set of driving simulation system with lower price,better sense of control and better visual feedback,this project uses electric vehicle as the carrier,carry out relevant research on physical reform of car body,interactive virtual driving and multi-channel projection.The following summarizes the main contributions of this paper:1.Design and development of a simulation platform based on ZD D2 S EV.We analyze the acquisition scheme of the CAN bus,electronic circuit,and various sensors in the car,and design an embedded signal processing and communication module based on the STM32F1 series.2.Design and implementation of a Unity3 D application.We develop a serial communication module and calibrate the control signal of virtual vehicles.We also build virtual driving scenes and virtual vehicle models using Vehicle Tools.3.Design and implementation of a cylindrical screen multi-channel projection system.We analyze the geometric calibration and edge fusion algorithm and propose a viewpoint-related geometric correction method and an edge fusion method on parameterized cylindrical screen.This method calculates projection parameters by processing monocular images without calculating the projectors’ pose,which can be easily implemented.The experimental results indicate that the driving simulation system works well,and the interaction between vehicle platform and Unity application is stable.In addition,the projection system creates a realistic visual immersion,which provides effective support for traffic safety research in laboratory scenarios.
