The damage assessment of phased array radar by blasting warheads is of great significance to the protection of radar targets and the design of the power of the warheads.Also,it is valuable for assessing the damage effectiveness of warheads to radar targets.In this thesis,the "Patriot" AN/MPQ-53 multi-function phased array radar was used as a damage evaluation target.The damage test and the natural fragment formation process of the warhead were simulated by four types of blasting warheads’ equivalent targets.The reflective overpressure propagation law of the shock wave and the parameters of the fragment’s power field were obtained.To study the damage effect of the blasting warhead on the radar target,a program was compiled.(1)To study the blast effect of phased array radar,the target characteristics and vulnerability characteristics of phased array radar were analyzed.Furthermore,target fragility characteristics model of phased array radar was established and damage tree was built.Also,the weight of each key component was calculated based on Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to determine the radar target damage probability calculation method.(2)According to the phased array radar’s geometry and material parameters,the radar equivalent target was designed using the strength equivalent principle.The blasting warhead’s damage test research on the radar equivalent target was carried out.Through the analysis of the test results,the damage rule of the warhead to the equivalent target was obtained.Based on the experimentally measured overpressure data,the relationship between shock wave reflection overpressure and scaled distance was obtained.(3)Using the AUTODYN-3D finite element software,the formation process of the natural fragmentation of the blasting warhead was simulated.The parameters of the warhead fragment’s power field were obtained.The law of the shell rupture process during the explosion of the warhead was acquired.According to the theoretical formula and explosion test data,the reliability of the parameters of the warhead power field obtained from the simulation was verified from the aspects of the fragment’s spatial distribution,mass distribution and initial velocity distribution characteristics.Based on assumptions,an engineering calculation method for calculating the number of fragments formed in the warhead explosion was proposed.(4)The damage calculation model of blasting warheads for radar targets was established.The damage evaluation procedure was compiled.The reliability of the program was verified using the results of the damage test.The damage effects of warheads on radar targets,which is under different missile rendezvous conditions,were calculated.Then the relationship between damage probability and attack position,blast height and speed of the warhead was obtained.
