Project Delay Analysis And Control Measuresof Chongqing Zengjiayan Bridge Across Jialing River

Chongqing Zengjiayan Jialing River Bridge is a critical project to ease the traffic congestion across the Jialing River connecting Jiangbei and Yuzhong Districts,for it lies where these two districts meet.As planned,the investment of this project would cost 3.5billion CNY,and the completion and operation date should be the last day of 2018 and the first day of 2019 respectively.However,the handover date of this project has been seriously postponed.Therefore,it is important and necessary to find out factors of the delay and take efficient countermeasures in order to reduce the loss.This thesis is conducted to achieve these aims with contents as follows:(1)The literature research can provide the theory basis for the following study by conducting the literature collection on the construction project delay,analyzing and summarizing existing works of literature on the classifications,factors,and research methods of project delays,and finding out the advantages and disadvantages of these methods;(2)The log quantification can confirm and clarify problems to generate log data tables by collecting and checking construction logs,and communicating with on-site workers about construction problems;(3)The analyze of project delay is based on the log data tables to classify the project delays,find out the major factors in the construction duration,and conduct the quantified analyze by static analyze methods;(4)The countermeasure study is finally conducted to reduce the loss of the project delay according to the major factors.Results show that the heavy rain,rising waters,material supply,and on-site management are the major factors resulting in project delays and efficient countermeasures should be made.
