| Peking University International Hospital(hereinafter referred to as Peking University International Hospital)with a total building area of 440,000 square meters and a total of 1,800beds(hereinafter referred to as Peking University International Hospital)is a large-scale nonprofit general hospital built by social capital. Its high starting point, high positioning, investment and operation methods have made it attract worldwide attention from early planning, project establishment, design to construction, and put into use,and it is reported by the media. After Peking University International Hospital was completed and put into use at the end of 2014,there was an endless stream of visitors, which affected the construction of several large new hospitals(such as the new campus of Tiantan Hospital). After it was built and used,on the one hand, operation and maintenance gave feedback on a lot of construction experience worthy of promotion. On the other hand, the hospital has undergone more than 400 large and small renovations for up to 5 years after use.The reasons are worthy of in-depth investigation and experience worthy of summary.Similar The situation of newly-built hospitals such as Peking University International Hospital that undergoes transformation after they are put into use is definitely not an isolated case in the construction of contemporary hospitals in my country. In order to make up for the arrears of the number of hospital beds per 1,000 people in our country,in many cities and counties in the outer suburbs, many new hospitals have been created. These hospitals have encountered similar problems.According to incomplete statistics, during the construction process, the drawings of hospital buildings accounted for as much as 40% to 60%.After the construction is completed, the amount of dismantling and modification required immediately is 3% to 5%,causing a lot of waste. For this reason, this study collected and sorted out the construction materials of Peking University International Hospital, combined with literature research, field visits, interviews with key figures in the construction process, etc.,to fully understand the use and transformation of the hospital since its opening. On the basis of sorting out the details of the renovation project, analyze the reasons for the renovation one by one,and combine the development background of the times to deeply explore the influencing factors behind. In order to guide the design practice more pertinently, this research divides the influencing factors of transformation into two types: non-design level influencing factors and design level influencing factors for discussion.Influencing factors at the non-design level include medical policy adjustments, medical technology advancements, changes in international hospital planning and design concepts, changes in decision-makers leading the construction of hospitals, and building users not participating in the design decision-making process. The influencing factors at the design level include insufficient drawing design depth at the design stage, inadequate special design, and architects’ lack of familiarity with medical technology. Finally, this study summarizes the excellent construction experience that can be promoted in Peking University International Hospital, and proposes corresponding strategies for the transformations promoted by different influencing factors. For the transformation caused by non-design factors, architects should adopt flexible design strategies at the beginning of the design to adapt to future changes in the development of hospital buildings.Regarding the transformation caused by design-level factors, architects should pay attention to enhancing the depth of hospital architectural design, and avoid to the greatest extent possible transformation caused by unreasonable design after being put into use. |
