| With the development of the times, the number of motor vehicles in China has also increased rapidly, which is accompanied by a higher incidence of traffic accidents.Motor vehicle driving performance can directly affect the incidence of traffic accidents, and the indicators are also diverse.Based on the TORCS simulation driving system, this study investigated the relationship between cognitive load, situational awareness, risk perception and driving performance from the individual factors and psychological factors that affect drivers’ driving performance, aiming to provide some ideas and theoretical support for the relevant policies of traffic control departments and the relevant design of vehicle manufacturers, and at the same time, put forward some suggestions for improving driving safety coefficient for Chinese motor vehicle drivers. The research is divided into three parts: The first study aims to explore the usability of the TORCS simulation driving system among college students.Based on the TORCS simulation driving system and supporting simulation driving peripherals,216 college students in Hebei Province were tested by SUS System Usability Scale;Secondly, through the use of Brain Link headband and supporting basic testing APP,the data of college students drivers were collected. The second study aims to explore the relationship between cognitive load and driving performance of college students’ drivers, and whether the index of cognitive load will affect the driving performance of college students’ drivers through the psychological factor of situational awareness, and whether the psychological factor of risk perception can regulate the above relationship. In the second study, based on the TORCS driving simulation system and supporting driving simulation peripherals,305 college students drivers in Hebei Province were tested through Cognitive Load Scale,Driver Risk Perception Questionnaire and3D-SART Situation Awareness Scale. The purpose of study 3 is to verify the usability of TORCS simulation driving system, and further explore whether the model of cognitive load, situational awareness and risk perception in driving performance of college students drivers is valid. In the third study,12 college drivers selected from the second study were interviewed in a semi-structured way through self-made interview outline, and the data results were coded, word frequency analyzed and cluster analyzed by Nvivo11.0 qualitative analysis software.Based on the three-part study, the following conclusions are drawn:1.The usability of TORCS simulation driving system has reached the qualified standard under direct measurement and indirect measurement.2.The situational awareness of motor vehicle drivers plays an incomplete mediating role in the influence of cognitive load on driving performance;Motor vehicle drivers’ risk perception plays a negative moderating role between cognitive load and driving performance, and also plays a negative moderating role between situational awareness and driving performance. In addition, the influence of cognitive load and situational awareness on driving performance of motor vehicle drivers is weakened by their risk perception level.3.In the process of simulated driving of motor vehicles, cognitive load will influence the situational awareness of motor vehicle drivers, further influence the driving performance of motor vehicle drivers through situational awareness, and also directly influence the driving performance, and all three influences are weakened by the driver’s risk perception. |
